3 chamber cab: build up and grow

Now that I've posted my cab pics 3 times, Im doing it again, but this will be a thread that I can update. Here was my original plan

62316cab_plan.jpg

Under the advise of a fellow member, I decided to put my moms and clones into one chamber (B), and make C and D one chamber for flowering. Im going to SOG 4 Northern Lights every 2 weeks, in the bottoms of half gallon milk jugs. Chamber A will be used for drying. Here is my progress so far:

Flowering chamber, with a small shelf above it for storing my nutes, tools, etc:

And my drying rack, which is a wooden frame and some netting:

Now, if I ran my exhaust from the top of B into the bottom of A, would this be a bad idea? I will be running approx 100-150w of CFLs in B. I will also have an exhaust from the back of A. Basically I just want to minimize the number of intakes and exhausts in the back of the cab, but Im worried the air from the clone/mom chamber will be too hot for the drying room.

I dont, but I can get one. This is the bottom half of the cabinet. The top half is the same size, but without the middle verticle divider. Im using the bottom because it came with locks on both doors, and the divider works great for my plans. Since Im not using the top for growing, I can still use that half for every day items, making it less suspicious, and not just the brand new cabinet in the corner that never gets opened.

Got most of the mylar on, waiting on some louvers to light proof this thing. Waiting to figure out my intake and exhaust before I put mylar on the backs. Trying to figure out how to make efficient airflow to all 3 chambers with 2 PC fans and an 6" duct booster. Let me know if you have any ideas

Mostly the full cab:

Looking nice, im about to turn this cabinet thing I have into a growing cab also.

Keep up the good work.

Also what are you planning on running in there seed wise. Also what style grow are you going with just a few bigger plants or like SOG small plants dr.bud style?

Just for kicks, heres some pics of my current grow, 38 days into flowering, 9x23w CFLs:

Plant 1- Buds grew quick, but have slowed down now. Ive been struggling to keep this one healthy, and cant figure out whats wrong. This may be the reason for the slowed growth (although the buds still look nice). I dont have a good camera, but this plant is the frostiest of my 4:

Plant 2: Calling this one Melon, because it smells like a slightly rotten one. This one stared out stretching its branches really far and having small buds, but they have really started to thicken up in the past week or so:

Plant 3: Calling this one the Dumpster. It smells pretty rotten if you get your nose up to it. It has the thickest canopy of my plants, and doesnt have the biggest buds, but has the most consistant:

Plant 4: Calling this one the Lemon, due to its scent. Its the freshest smelling plants of the 4. I transplanted this one later than the others, so its smaller in size, but its really making up for its size with some nice, dense, consistant buds. I think this one is maturing the fastest, according to its pistols, but I still need to get a magnifier to check the trichs:

Your really fat plant with the yellow leaves is asking for fertilizer but is seems a little late to fix though. Look at it this way. Its a very flushed plant and should burn well.

I guess I was so scared of over fertilizing, I did it in. Sucks that its my best looknig plant too, even after its near death. If I would have been a bit more experienced, that would be one nice plant. I think I'll add superthrive to its watering to try to keep it alive long enough to harvest. I dont want to have brown, crunchy leaves in my smoke.

Pretty nice setup man. Props.

Now just dial in those plants and things will really take off... things still look great though.

Good work. :D

Wouldn't it be better to pull cooler, dryer fresh air in through your drying area rather than exhausting hotter, moister cabinet air out through it? In other words, reverse the direction of air flow you suggested so the air flows from A to B.

I considered this, but Im not sure if that'd be enough intake. I think Ill just settle with having 3 seperate intake and exhaust setups. It'll be the most work, but it should be the most efficient.

You need very little air flow for drying -- you want your buds to dry slowly. Nor do you need lots of air flow for your plants -- lower air flow through a carbon scrubber gives the air more contact time with the carbon -- just so long as the plants get a regular supply of fresh air. The only thing that really requires moving lots of air is cooling your lights. The ideal setup is to separate the air used for cooling (high flow) from the air used to keep your plants healthy or dry your buds (low flow).

Update: Still waiting on Adorama to get their louvers in stock, but heres pics of what Im doing now.

So, finally, my first harvest ever. This is from a single plant, the one that was sick. I probably harvested it a few days early, but after having so many problems, I think it was the best thing to do. Havent weighed it yet, but this is after a week of curing:

Heres a shot of one of the two plants left in the box. This main cola has become heavy enough that I had to stake it up to keep it close to the lights:

And finally, until we smoke and give it a name, this one is called the comeback kid. I transplanted it later than all the other plants, so its growth was impaired, but no worries. Its producing alot of trichs, and whether its the strain or the temps, its starting to turn purple. Im not sure how, but this plant got pollinated as well. Luckily it wasnt too bad. Ive pulled 8 seeds (which Im definately keeping), and can only see 3 more:

I have one other plant thats trying as I type this. Pics to come once cure starts
