White Russian - 2000w

Edit: Only using 1 1000w-HPS for now due to wiring issues.

Just reserving my thread here a little ahead of time. I will have some pictures of the grow area up over the weekend. It is roughly 65% complete as I have some new equipment I'm about to order from Discount. Looking at receiving 12 pre-vegged White Russians (ty MMJ), 2 of which will be kept as Momma's for the time being, 10 of which will either be put right into flower or vegged for another week. The two that will be kept as Momma's will have 5 clones taken a piece. They are supposed to be ~2' tall so I might just straight to flower. Flower room is 6.5'x5'x7.5'. Veg room will be 3.5'x5'x7.5'.

400w-MH for Veg. 1000w-HPS.

Flowering and Veg Exhaust handled by 8" canfan (~750cfm) to a CAN100 Carbon Filter (~840cfm). Fresh air to Flowering drawn from old dryer vent to outside with a squirrel cage ~(240cfm) / HEPA Filter. Hopefully negative air pressure should take care of the rest.

20 plants for 240c.f. too cramped?

I will be using Blaze's soil mix (Pro-mix, blood meal, bone meal, dolomite, MG Organic, Perlite) Quick question - will my best bet for a one-stop shop on those be a medium-large nursery? Or should I scope out DePot?

sounds like an interesting grow but the crampness will depend on the shape of the plants and the pot size

You going to use a light mover of some sort, or you gonna move 20 plants by hand? Just curious since optimally you would want 6 hours of mh and 6 hours of hps for each plant

Good luck with your grow

As promised, pictures of the setup. More equipment (6" aircooled MH system, new 8" aircooled hood for flowering, misc. stuff) should be here sometime this coming week.

General area configuration. Separated areas in grow room framed with 2x4 stud and 4'x8' OSB. Joints are Liquid-Nails'd and Painted over.

8" CAN100

Current Veg room. Approx (WxLxH) 3.5'x5'x7.5'.Will hold clones and Momma's - 400W MH.

Current flower room, painted flat white. Size of room (LxWxH) is approx 6.5'x5'x7.5'. I remember reading somewhere that it is the most effective method so I have stuck with it. Cannot quote source on that info though: Can't remember.

8" insulated ducting that exhausts to the carbon filter on the other side of wall.

Temporary intake (mostly for pain drying :]) that connects to the ducting in the flowering room. Likely an old dryer exhaust - vents directly outside.

This round's soil mix components (courtesy Blaze's formula again; Props!) except for the dolomite lime. It's on the way.

Please leave comments or questions!

Hey, you said 2000w, now it's only 1100w. And no plants?

That's false advertising, I want a refund :D

Just kidding, keep it up.

Lol yeah. Wiring in a sub panel is something I haven't had time to do yet, so I have to keep the amps minimal. Should be 100% complete on building by Sunday and the plants will be here on Monday, which is when this show begins.

Will update with pictures as soon as my camera charges :]

you cant get all those at Home Depot

you cant get all those at Home Depot

Basically you have to hustle to get to a nursery type store as their inventory is most likely dwindling, and maybe more than one place. Online is a great way to get what you cant find, ship to safer place if you are nervous at all, but its not necessarily a bad idea.
Good luck!

Fans, you need oscillating fans, and a carbon filter too.

Indeed, I didn't get anything at depot. A few were local nursery, a few were Ace hardware, and a few online. Just had to do a little telephone foot-work to find things.

Thank you for reminding me about the fans! I need to see what the Mart has. IIR they have ~$20 19" oscillators and cheaper floor mounts. Probably grab one with a stand (or 2) and one that sits on the floor (or 2).

Carbon filter is briefly pictured above. It's tucked in a corner and I didn't want to move shit to get to it :). It's a 8" CAN100, fed by 8" exhaust from a centrifugal fan. Pics of the updated stuff will come by the end of the weekend.

Took some measurements today. Looks like flowering room will peak ambient at ~76F and canopy temps will straddle the 80's under the 1000w HPS. Veg room looks like it will be keeping a mid 70's temp. RH for both rooms fluctuated between 30-45%. I have a hygrometer with 24hr max/min's. With no equipment running, looks like nighttime dipped into the high 50's with a RH in the low 20's, but I plan on running the lights during the nights (rhyme lol). Max was ~70F with a RH in the mid 50's.

Looks like conditions will be pretty optimal. Camera charger comes middle of this next week.

For the record, just read a correction on the recipe for soil. Blaze's mix uses 1/2 of the compressed bags per 30 gals, not a whole one. Need to double the amount of bone meal, blood meal, lime, and MG soil I placed in my 50 gal rubbermaids.

Monster 8" hoods

Ducting. 8" CAP centrifugal that pulls ambient flowering room air across bulb.

A better look at flowering room dimensions.

A better look at the veg room and soil mix containers, respectively.

Plants are set to come in next Friday for certain. Trying to decide if I want to add some electrical capacity in so I can run 2000w (I may be able to now for all I know... would just feel safer in general with a subpanel) Need a new ballast and possibly a new bulb / ballast for the MH system. The 1000w switchable didn't match the ballast I have (Doh!) so I am waiting to order another.

Had a hard time finding some clones. A friend of a friend is holding them for me but it looks like they might not make it through. For now, I have some rando bagseed and some NL seeds in soil. Just waiting on some sprouters :D
