I've been looking at that same unit with great interest. Running a self contained stealth cab, I wonder how much heat it puts out. I just did the inline-fan-from-hell thing and am not ready to walk down that path again just yet.

In the meantime, soda bottles of frozen water work great. 16 oz would be a good size for small buckets.

For a good laugh, here's a "review" of the product I found some time ago Chiller Review (NOT!)

just buy a water dispenser that you see at office buildings. Take it apart, drop the coils in, and plug it in. Instant water chiller for $100.

If you're looking for stealth, an additional piece of equipment may not be the way you want to go.

Get some Hydroguard.. It combats the bacteria that cause root rot and thusly you can run your res at higher temperatures.

Or switch to E&F.. :)

small fridges and coolers just dont provide enough heat transfer to fix the problem in most cases. a small aquarium chiller will be the most fun grow toy you have bought if you have a place for it and can afford it. One spoiled crop avoided and its easily paid for. its fun having 67 degree water all the time, and your plants roots love the extra oxygen.

hydroguard is good stuff for sure.

not as much importance as it has if you are struggling to keep your res temp in range. it is thought that you dont get any better growth above about 85, unless you have co2 and then you increase growth rates by running the air temp in the lower 90's. The only negative I can think of that growing hotter without co2 and with a res cooler is that you have more transpiration and more chance of drying out your leaves if your rh is too low and temps too high.
