Hi KJ7,
yeah this is normal to find a few different phenos in NL#5xHaze, that's a good thing that they're all different,
gonna have a good variety to pick and choose your keeper(s),
i'm growing NL#5xHaze just now as well (3 females all different phenos),
how far into the grow are you?
have you stumbled across a pheno that's alot smaller/shorter than the rest?
post some pics up if you can :joint:

peace

I've never grown this one, but have smoked a few oz's of it. I would say you made a good choice on strains, but I unfortunately cannot give any insight on the different pheno's.
Here's a pic (a dark bad pic) of one of the NL5xHaze buds. Was very enjoyable smoke!

I've only ever grown one pheno of NL5xHaze, someone gave it to me coz they knew I was looking for some seriously scary weeed. :D

It didn't quite turn out that way, the smoke was absolutely gorgeous, very motivating, true "warrior weed", but not really scary at all. A cross of these survives as my best smelling, most robust mum!

OTOH, I have known people (fairly serious smokers, too) who stopped growing it coz it was too scary, so I reckon there's at least two phenos, ha-hah!

IMO it is a true smokers smoke, one of the best genetics available, not only from Holland, but internationally.

Don't be put off by many phenos. It's a good thing!
Don't forget that even original Haze (its parent), had only 25% of phenos outstanding, 50% OK, and 25% poor. This way genetic diversity is preserved and it also allows the odd surprise. If boring old stable predictability is what you're after, you may be looking in the wrong place.

Hi Gert,
howz the taste on your keeper NL5/H?, 1 of my old mates who used to grow (before he moved away from the area) used to grow NL#5xHaze, think it was a select cut that was doing the rounds at the time,
this was a smelly 1, he used to live in a high rise flat and the smell was noticable all through the entire building,
even outside in the gardens it was noticable, real spicy, musky haze aroma when growing (taste was the same as smell), and strong, proper haze smoke,
i'll be loving it if i find that 1 on this run mate as it was a true gem:canabis:,
2 of the 3 pheno's i've got just now are looking very hazy/sativa,
close to 4 weeks flower and still growing upwards :fsu: ,
i'm glad i used a MH for veg up until 2 weeks flowering, i think they'd be easily 6 foot by this stage if i didn't

peace :joint:

Hey y'all,
First of all thanks for the help...
My seeds just sprouted a few weeks ago, so i haven't got many pics yet, when i do so, i'll post it up!!
As they popped not long ago, they're still pretty small but already gaining size every day! I've got them straight outdoors as the season has just started here (23 Sept.)...
I germinated 8 seeds, and of them 7 cracked straight away... almost the same date...
But then some of them showed completely different grow patterns...
a few are strong with big leaves... and the other few look like they got stunted... not showing much grow at all.....
Should i get concearned about it? is it normal??? Should i just "give away" with the slow/weird growing ones??
Couple of questions on NL#5xHaze:
Do this strain usually get very big? Does it consume lots of water?? Should it be ok in a guerrilla kind of grow??? What about mold?? is it a big problem with this strain ???

About diferent phenos... I think ill just keep growing all of them and wait to compare them in a few weeks... and as i've still got 12 seeds, i'm gonna throw some more to see how they go....

Sorry for my bad englishh.....
&
Thanks for the attention!!

Here's a couple of pics of the last pheno i ran just after Christmas KJ7, i had more pics in my gallery but had to delete some, once it was in the jars the buds smelled exactly like those hard boiled sweets (lime flavour) that have the chocolate in the middle, chocolate + lime through and through :joint:

No. You might find some surprises there. Wait at least a couple of months.

Do this strain usually get very big?
Hell, YEAH!

Should it be ok in a guerrilla kind of grow???
If you're growing guerilla at this time, I just hope you're in the Southern Hemisphere else forget it.
Never done them outside, but they're as tough as old boots, if your conditions are not extreme you shouldn't have a problem.

@Hazeseeker: Just a wonderful incensey-hazy spicy taste with some overtones, dunno, grapefuity, fuelly, too difficult to describe.

KJ7,

If you're growing in a humid area like the jungles in Australia, you will have mold issues with the resinous shiny looking phenos like the killer pics Hazeseeker put up...however you'll be able to finish the branchy tall phenos that grow the lime green flowers and has an extremly potent high, this pheno is very difficult to finish properly indoors (I'm actually kinda jealous)

Also interested in knowing how the T*Haze x Skunk#1 finishes up for you...it could be your favorite of the bunch if your in a climate with a nice long season. good luck man

Well, you're in perfect conditions for them, then!

As for the mold, I just don't know. They finish November, even December outdoors in the North, so it should be April/May for you - so the late flowering period might escape the rains. Perhaps some phenos are better. You'll just have to wait and see.

I grew NL 5 x haze from sensi seeds, back about 2001........I moved and lost the lineage. GREAT stuff. I had a couple phenos, one was very short & squat with a NL apprearance, the others ran a little bit more and approached the tall side. I usually flowered my clones as soon as they threw a root, resulting in a plant about 2 feet high. Average flower time was about 75 days. The sativa type tended to be a real heavy yielder, really packing it on the last couple weeks. My take on the flavor was sort of a citrus taste, very hashy though. As far as the smoke, the high was really nice, not scary like some people suggest. Very strong, yet also pleasant. Catch a buzz off one hit for sure. I have been reconsidering that for a new grow.
I see the seeds are still steep but I think I paid 300 bucks back in 99 so they haven't really gone up.

nice thread....

id love to find an oldschool NL pheno in NL#5 x Haze.....people say its very similar/ allmost genericly similar to Cheese...."stinky/musky/slight berry"..i think ive tasted this "generic NL".....its awsome!!....

ive somoked loads of NL#5 x Haze in Amsterdam when i lived there... i never thought it was tasty/stinky...it allways got me higher than anything else and was very mutch an indica.... but im not realy into "COMA`S"....and SSH seemed tastyer at the time in 2001....the best were Godzila,SSH,Kalimaist,NYCD...

Hmm... I wonder what it was.
I've never smoked an NL5xHaze that was "indica" by any stretch of the imagination, let alone "very much" indica.
Never heard of anyone else reporting it as such before, either.

100% sativa all the way.

The stuff i had was definitely sativa. It kind of tapered off at the end into a relaxed state, but the bud structure and early onset seemed to have that notorious up-lifting sort of buzz.

Yeah almost all the phenos of NL#5xHaze i've smoked have been very Sativa leaning as well, a 'keep you up all night and party' type of smoke :rasta: ,
although there is 1 pheno i've seen which was the most indica (in appearance and growth) out of all the other NL#5xHaze's,
that was the 1 that smelled foul when growing, smelled like sour baby sick in the jars but had a great musky berry taste (high was still quite sativa tho),
i was hoping to find this pheno this run but all 3 fems i have are big, sativa girls with razor sharp thin leaves (gonna be 95+ day flowering phenos i think),
i'll post up some pics tomorrow, the tallest pheno has a bud growing from a fan leaf, looks cool :rasta:

peace :joint:

its quite possible the "babysick" pheno was the one i had back in Amsterdam...... yours would have tasted better "just a lil care would bring out the special qualitys"........

the NL5 x haze was from the Green House .....some might say they turned inacurate around 01....

is anyone looking for a strait NL5 pheno ....???.....something with no haze....maybe even a afghan type.....wideleaf,short
