Can heat be controlled in a 4X4 tent with a 600w light? How about odor issues in grow tents?? Thanks capt

i own a 4x8 Homebox tent and completely satisfied with it but the heat can be a pain in the ass if you dont have enough ventilation in it

I got a 4x8 and with 2k watts. I use two six inch high output can fans to vent the heat through the hoods. Heat can be an issue without the proper ventilation. I also open up my hut when the lights are on to help get more fresh air in there.

a 6" Vortex would likely be enough

I use a 4" Vortex with a 400w in a DR80 and its just enough

I only use 3x400w w/ cooltubes and I barely hold down the heat to 30 degrees
cant even imagine to run 2k in it...overkill
sometimes there arent enough holes in the tents but luckily they figured out this

Could you who have tent's give us some specs on your equipment?
Like CFM, aircooled-hoods or not, temps in/out..?
I think that would be very helpful!

4X4 hut. Running a 1000w aircooled hood at 20 inches from canopy. Fan is a 6inch ecoplus inline fan. Ducting is insulated. Temps are 75.

I ran a 600w in there with the same setup and temps dropped down to 70.

Either way I would get a 6inch ecoplus inline fan. Cant go wrong with this fan. It kicks my 6inch canfan inline ass all day long.

As for odor, I would suggest the hydrohut filters. Which are the hydrofarm goblin, and elf. The goblin is 6 inch and the elf is 4inch. I use both sizes for my two rooms. I use the elf in my hut and it works great. I also drilled holes in the bottom so I can change out the carbon and reuse the filter. Saves a lot of money.

AND DONT BUY ANY TENT WITH A WHITE LINING!!! THEY WILL OFF GASS AND KILL YOUR PLANTS

Get the new ones with the silver lining. Sunhut and hydrohut all have silver linings now unless they are the old tents that will kill your plants

Full of misinformation. Not all hydrohuts where affected by the recall. I have one with a white lining that has beening running strong for 4years now.

The heat at my canopy is never over eighty degrees. Its not overkill at all as long as you have the proper ventilation. Those big huts are really made for 3x 600's or two one thousands.

1000w or 600w in a air cooled hood with just about any fan you can hook up to it will work in a 4x4. Simple shit dude knock it out!

You have no idea what you are talking about. Unless this kid can travel to the past and buy one before they changed the binding material last year then any tent with the white lining will more than likely off gass.

So he can
A. just buy one with the white lining and wait and see if they kill his plants
or
B. buy one with the silver lining and just not worry about it...

maybe w/ other brands but Homebox guarantees no ill gases produced with their tents even if they are white.....and I can agree with it because I own one

Not talking about Homebox, The Sunhuts and Hydrohuts

Still after losing all my plants and almost losing my clone mothers plus 3 months of down time do to "WTF" I would never buy a white lined tent.

Ive got friends running hydrohuts and sunhuts, white lined without a problem but they have had them for a few years
