need some info on crushing D-lime pellets

well i am right in the middle of mixing up about 100gal of LC's mix
always use a coffee bean grinder for my dolomite
but my moter just burned out on me

question is how do you guys crush your pellets ?
i did a search or three, but i am afraid that feature has always escaped me for the most part

bust out a sweat rag, some thick garbage bags, and the biggest hammer you can find. go to town on those puppies and you'll get the lime powdered in no time. of course its not 100% perfect but it gets the majority of the lime into a good powdered consistency with a good amount of ol fashioned hammerin'.

still gonna go get a new grinder though, i musta screwed it up grinding oyster shell last time LOL

You can also dissolve the prilled dolomite lime in some water. I use a soda bottle and shake it up. mmm makes a nice chocolate eggg cream lol

That's quite a batch of soil...

Forget about the pellets. Go to an old school hardware store and get a 25lb. bag of Pulverized Dolomitic Lime in the Lawn section for 5 bucks...

I tried the pellet thing and got widely varying results due to the fact the pellet distribution in the soil is not even. Also, pounding little rocks gets old fast...

The powdered form distributes well in the soil given a good stir...
