right now i have a 600w over a 3x3 table with 13 plants on it. if i put another 600w above the same table how much would the yield increase???

It will increase 6.244465476592695482374 times, im sorry I couldnt resist.

The question youre asking is a lot like asking how sweet an apple is. Its hard to answer because you have no set criteria or background information.

From the information you provided I can help a little bit.

3x3 = 9sq/ft
9 / 600w = 66.7 watts/sqft

That is an ample amount of watts per square foot. I doubt this would be an area to look for improvement in your grow.

allow me to rephrase the question... would putting two 600's over a 3x3 table increase the yield?

Yes, it will increase the yield.
Will the extra yield make up for the power consumption of the extra 600?
Probably.

isnt the rule of thumb 50 watts per square foot.a 600 on a 3x3 = 66 watts per square foot thats probably plenty.

You can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink.

I'm no pro, but it seems like 2 tables would get you a better yield than what you are proposing. If you mylared up the sides of your setup, and used 2 tables that would use your lumens that much more efficiently with two 600w lights.

13plants on a3x3 sounds like scrog of some sort, training one way or another so with the dual 600s training the plants outward of the 3x3 (say a foot or so on each side. making the light footprint 3x5)to use the light will def. increase yield.Id go with a second table if thats an option though.

yeap, I'd say 2x3'3' would do better, but if you don't have the space and can cool 2x600W@3'3 you would get a better yield than with just one, but you would probably not double your yield

You cannot expect to increase yield by increasing watts per sq. ft........

I`ve never run over 34 watts per sq.ft. in over a decade and I`ve pulled over 1 gpw every run due to environmental control instead of blastin their ass with light they can`t use..........

About 6 months ago I started using a vertical system with lil over 50 watts per sq. ft. and after 4 runs I can honestly say my nugs were more dense but yield did not increase due to increased wattage............My yields went up due to increased plant numbers.........What`s that tell you folks ?..........

Learn your strains and exploit them for as much as you can get out of em with what you haveta work with.......That`s how your yields will increase by knowing how much you can hack , trim , and shape your plants for maximum lumen and air penetration after the stretch is over and swellage takes over till choptime.......

Ya`ll take care......DHF........ :joint: ...........

I second this statement. More light of the same intensity. Minor improvement in yield at best. If 'ya do I would recommend one HPS and one MH. That would help in the spectrum area. Peace...........RD
