Autoflower-strains and strategies

I've been dabbling here and there for the last year or so with some autoflower genetics, auto ak's from lowlife. Unfortunately the genetics were lost after my former partner died in an auto accident and another individual came through and "cleared out" the house. The son of a bitch basically looted the place including a bunch of my stuff as I had been living there for a time, although I was not living there at that point. So, I'm kinda in the process of trying to get those genetics back as there was one really nice "giant" pheno that came out that yielded 6oz. Hard to believe for an autoflower.

Anyways at this point I'm trying to contact the person who got all that stuff, but he's suddenly hard to reach, lol. If I can't get them back I'll order some more and make 'em again. The other strain of major interest for me is Solar Warrior's Early Wonder Skunk. The Early Wonder Skunk's are supposed to finish right in the beginning of August. I'm not positive but I believe that they are full auto.

My plan for next year is to do a larger run of the faster auto ak's(70-80days) early in the season, slightly fewer Early Wonder Skunks, and I'm thinking maybe a few larger ones as well like Lethal Purple or something(non auto but early). I'm going to try and stagger the harvests to make things as easy as possible. I may end up doing a few more early wonder skunks than I plan as I here that they are cloneable. The clones are supposed to yield less overall though as they have less veg time before flowering.

Depending on how things go I might do multiple runs of the auto AK's through the summer. I was also thinking about maybe trying out some of lowlife's other stuff like the white russian, lemon skunk, and blueberry. It would be nice to have a variety. I'm hoping to be able to do a feminized seed run for these guys as pulling the males in a large set up is basically impossible. Although I could just do seed/hash runs, hash is always nice. Maybe later season if the first run goes alright.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about starting these/transplanting them outdoors. The auto ak's will be germed inside for about 2 weeks or so until they begin to flower. They should still be at a transportable size at that point, I hope. Anythings transportable really, its just a matter of how convenient it is.

There's a couple different planting strategies that I had in mind, I'm not really sure which is best/most practical at this point. The most ideal way to plant them would be to just till up and prepare a bed the desired size, or beds planting 1 plant every square foot. This would take a really good location and I'm a little worried of a prepared bed being spotted from the air. For this reason I was thinking about doing them in long stretches (lines almost, just not uniform). With this either a narrow strip/bed can be prepared for a distance or i was actually thinking about going with a minimal prep appproach and trying out one of those augers, either the drill attachment or if that wasn't enough one of the hand ones. Do minimal prep, drill out hole through in dry nutes(thinking AN heavy harvest) and some water crystals and transplant the plant.

Here's an issue that I've been thinking about that I have not heard addressed with the autoflowers and that is fertilization. The ak's only veg for 2 weeks and then they go into flower. So I was thinking about starting them in a veg blend soil mix and then when they get transplanted giving them the flowering nutes right then, otherwise I think it'll be kinda hard to get them the proper nutes at the right time.

Like I mentioned before I've already found one giant pheno in the auto ak's, whether I get it back or find it again is another story. With this being said I'm hoping that these plants will yield an ounce a piece knowing that some of them have the ability to yield 4-6 ounces in ideal conditions(that was indoors in coco)

I'll probably only do the first run like that just to get it out early and then from there if I do more I'll prolly strike them at the patch.

Now I don't know as much about the early wonder skunk as I've never worked with it before. I'm not sure whether it's full auto or not and what kind of vegging strategy is best for it. If it's feasible I'd like to do feminised seed run of these as well to really utilize the seedling vigor. Worst case scenario, the strain is supposed to be clonable, it'll just yield slightly less. The EWS is supposed to yield about 4 oz's by the beginning of august.

So now looking at this if I put out 200 auto ak's, 40-80 EWS, and 10-20 Lethal Purple's in the beginning of June. These earlier strains are being utilized because I'm located in a cooler mountainous New England area.

I would need to do one seed run this winter for the auto ak's and the EWS. If I can get ahold of them my former partner and I made a good 50,000 or so of those auto ak seeds already, but somebody has gripped them up already at this point. When I get ahold of them I believe they'll be reasonable about it, lol.:asskick:

I might not do the Lethal Purple's but I figured that it would be nice to have something big coming down at the end of the season as well. It just doesn't feel right if your not harvesting and it's harvest season, I know as I've just moved this summer which made just about anything impossible as it was a fairlly substantial move distance wise, about 500 miles or so.

It rains pretty frequently here up until about august so water shouldn't be an issue, but just in case I am thinking about digging a reservoir or two and if I'm feeling real spunky maybe even running some irrigation. It's more of a back up thing though and I don't believe that it will be necessary as it rained here a good amount this season, and I believe it does so pretty consistently every season. Between the rain, the water crystals, and the short time they're actually in the ground I doubt that water will be an issue.

If anybody has any suggestions such as other strains, fertilization/prep strategy, and also timing as far as starting them.

I grew early wonder skunk from solar warrior and the plants did not finnish before october, the smoke was average or below. you should try some guerilla gold, always hear good things about that.

That's kind of odd, I've heard a lot of good stuff about Early Wonder Skunk; the fact that it's potent, and early. Maybe the pheno that you got wasn't that great or maybe someother weird condition. It's definitely supposed to finish before october though I know that as it was bred for the northern climates of Canada for the last 20-30 years.

The auto ak's are from lowlife seeds which are carried by a couple different vendors one being dr chronic another being dope seeds. I know that there are others out there as well.

I'll definitely check your thread out as soon as I'm done with this post. There aren't too many things being posted about these autoflowers, atleast not outdoor grows.

I've just read about a very interesting method to do a similar early harvest with non-autoflower strains as well in Silverback's thread. He clones whatever plant he's going to use, puts them straight into flower from his aero cloner, and transplants them in early to mid july after having them in flower for a week. He says that they won't reveg and you'll harvest a week less than the flower time listed for the strain from transplant. So a 60 day strain is ready in 53 days from transplant. This really helps me out to get some of those sativa flavors that i like but have trouible growing in this northern climate.

By the way, if one of you has pm'd me I can't read it as I do not have enough posts under my belt as of yet and can only post once every 5 minutes. I like IC Mag alot, but that's one feature that I definitely don't appreciate.

I've actually tried to get Guerilla's Gold a couple of times, twice to be exact. It's kinda hard cause they don't send to the US anymore. I tried to work something out with them twice, sent them the money and they kept it. Granted it was a US money order but I think they could have atleast sent it back. That's nothing against Greens or Mr. Clone as they're both fairly stand up individuals from what I've seen, but I will say that the incident did leave a sour taste in my mouth and a few bucks lighter(it was a decent sized order). That one really sucked. My old partner might have pulled some funny business with it though as it was through his address and I'd like to believe that the good crew over at Unleash Da Green wouldn't just gank my cash. So yes, I've looked into that whole collectives genetic lines but have had a hard time getting ahold of them. I ordered GG#2, #5, Jam Donut(#3 i think), and a bunch of others as well. Maybe I'll give it a shot sometime in the future but I don't know. I am alot closer to Canada now so maybe I'll try and work something out where I just pic them up or have them delivered close to the border or something, who knows. I'm pretty satisfied with the genetics that are readily available though.

I would make my own early strains man. You can keep a male lowryder in your veg and that makes it easy to do the low crosses. . I have had good success with my timewarp x lowryder. and my white rhino x lowryder, both done by end of augest. could be earlier if put out earlier. I am excited about to harvest a lot of beans in a couple days. romulan diesel x lowryder, rhino low x lowryder, and more timewarp x lowryder beans. Next season i will do some of these but i am going to run mainly gg#2 and manitoba meds from greens. I think if you put out clones of these in may you could harvest by july and then put some more clones in for fall harvest! Lots of possibilitys with these extremely photo sensitive plants.
Rhino low. This stuff is really tasty, but i did get to select the phenotype of my choice. You should also look into texada timewarp this is some good outdoor man. Heavy and frosty as hell. My clones from next generations timewarp f5 finnished sept 5th. Usually its a little later but i got lucky with the pheno i guess.

I've been thinking more and more about this as well but my setup doesn't really lend itself to that right now. I have a regular flower room going right now with ak 47, chronic, sensi star x old time moonshine, and heavy duty fruity x old time moonshine. Cuttings are pretty much gonna be coming in and out for a little bit at this point so I have to wait to start a breeding project with pollen flying around and shit. I don't know what your seedstock is looking like man but if you have a few extra I could definitely use the help. My partner and I had well over 20,000 auto ak seeds made up but he was in an auto accident last month and passed away. A few days after the accident someone went to the house and looted all the equipment, a bunch of my stuff, and all the genetics. I was out of state at the time. I've been lucky enough to get some cuts to help me back on my feet but I don't have any of the auto stuff anymore. If you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated I would be more than happy to return the favor as soon as possible. That goes to anyone else who may read this as well.

I really like the sounds of that Texada timewarp x lowryder, definitely sounds like a good hearty early finisher. The rhino low definitely sounds nice and the romulan diesel low sounds like I wouldn't be able to get out of my seat after it, lol. The GG#2 and Manitoba med are definitely solid strains but I don't think that they are as early as the other ones, late august if I remember, maybe beginning of Sept. for some.

I've also thought more about my planting method for this venture. I still have to pick the sites but I'm shooting for 3 plots that are essentially going to be 13'x13' semi-raised beds. I figure I'll haul in about 10-15 bails of peat, couple bags of worm castings, lime, heavy harvest summer/fall, some rare earth, and a couple other little things. Hopefully I will be able to make use of some of the natural soil there buy removing the top growth and turning the dirt a good 6-10" down, and then throw the rest of the stuff on top of it and turn it all together.

The bed will be 13' x 13' and there will be 1 plant every square foot, 169 plants in total, for a nice dense little sea of green. Considering that everyone talks of flowering autos in 5 L containers I think a 12"x12"x12" space of decent soil will do them justice. I'm hoping to be able to pull an ounce per plant giving just over 10 lbs from the 13'x13' space.

If everything goes well I'll be able to pull my first harvest mid july and replant the beds for a quick, low maintenance second harvest, striking the seeds straight at the patch 2 weeks before harvest of the first crop, so the second crop is in by the end of august/beginning of sept. I don't really see anything in the air checking stuff out until it's in to september, so my whole goal is to be out by that time.

I think that I can prepare the bed in an afternoon and plant it in another, so we're talking 6-8 days of prep time needed in the beginning of the season, and then prolly 3 decent days to harvest and replant for the second harvest.

So let's say 14 days total in prep/harvest and then another 12 or so days visiting each plot every other week for a check up. Maybe a little less frequently if I'm feeling confident in it, just for the sake of security.

My only issue is that of aerial view during the 7 weeks or so that it's outside. 7 weeks in the beginning of the season doesn't sound that bad to me though and the second harvest I'll just be looking at as gravy if it manages to come down. From what I've heard so far my state has a lottery type system for doing searches as well do to lack of funding. Supposedly there's only 2 counties in the whole state getting flown over this summer. That could be some mighty valuable info to get a hold of. That type of shit gets leaked and I'll be listening.

psilopod, sorry to hear about that man. I actually don't deal with the orders at all, so unfortunately I don't know what happened there. I'm guessing the money order was never cashed because they don't send to the US. I would think it should have been sent back though.

As for finishing times, I'm pretty sure that the GG#2 finishes as early or faster than the EWS and the GG#5 would be close too. I know some people have done well with the EWS too and most of them are pretty early by early september.

I had read that EWS finishes somewhere right around the end of July/beginning of august. My old partner prolly did something shady with it. We had a couple incidents towards the end of our relationship.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed over the border at this point, but if I am I will deinitely try and catch up with you sometime on that side of the border. It just basically depends on whether the arrests come up, lol, it was supposed to be expunged but I don't know if it ever went through as I didn't get the paperwork.

I appreciate you chiming in on the matter though greens. Yah, I'm pretty sure that it was Mr. Clone that we had dealings w/ and my partner was acting rather shady about the whole incident, so I'm damn near sure that he just pocketed it. What a punk.

I definitely can't wait for this to come together either. I used to have the privilege of this being a full on way of life. Unfortunately over the last year I had some stuff go wrong with a partner and lost a whole bunch of money and lots of my stuff. So now I'm in a new state starting all over again basically from scratch except for the knowledge that I've gained through my travels. At this point I've gotten myself a house again, but I'm running completely on my partners equipment so I'm only taking a 20% cut. It's kinda shitty but it's the only opportunity that I had at the time and it's getting me to where I need/want to be.

I'm hoping that around Jan/Feb I'll be back on my feet with a little money and my own equipment. I have one 400 watt mh, but that's at my partners where the veg goes down. Hoping that I can go back to this stuff being my main focus. It makes such a difference when you can dedicate those extra hours to it.

sorry to hear about your partner that sucks especially if he was a close friend i myself dont use partners ...plus its one less mouth i have to worry about good luck

I wouldn't normally want a partner either but after this whole ordeal I didn't have much of a choice if I wanted to get things off the ground. I don't worry about the whole it's another mouth thing with this person as they are the one that introduced me to it and they are a lot for paranoid/fanatical than I am.

I'm hoping to be able to get my own thing going by this winter sometime. I already have the place now I just need my own equipment.

After reading and posting in various threads I've decided that I will also be dedicating time to breeding new autoflowers aside from just making stock for next years outdoor. I would like to work with texada timewarp, c99, biddy early, god bud, chronic, and a couple others. I won't be able to do all these by next season but I'm getting all the ideas rolling around in my head so that they are solidified by the time next season rolls around. I would really like some super fast sativa, so I was thinking about trying to make an auto c99. It would be great to have the c99 back in the garden as well.
