just me personally but it gives me the heebejeebies thinking that some one can enter the place were i grow if i lived in a apartment or even a rented house id have a heart attack every time some one walked by let alone knowing some dick weed maintence man could enter any time for any reason they can pull out there plumber crack
Me too! The damn apartment complex I currently live at wants to be up in my apt almost every month for something. Also, they just hand over a big key ring to the pest control guy to spray the apt's (if you are home or not) on a regular basis and he sprays everywhere in the apt, no room is safe. That's why I haven't started yet... but I do have a nice bean collection started. ;)

Can't add or change locks either... it's in the lease. Fuck I hate renting from apt complexes.

I posted this in another thread...

Apartment growing is risky because landlords can easily concoct a legally defensible reason to enter your apartment with out notice. I would use a cabinet that is locked, since they do not have a legal right to search through your personal property. I would also get a wireless security system that can protect against more than just nosy landlords. Some people even setup a motion detector to kill the cabinet power if someone enters the room for stealth.

Wireless Home Security System

It sounds like you are very stealthy and most people would only come across your grow under extreme circumstances, or if they were snooping. I am not going to encourage you since everyone must weigh the risk vs. benefit for themselves.

When I rented, I specified in an agreement with the landlord that I must be notified (via my cell phone) at the the time of all entrances into my apartment regardless if it was an emergency or not. I told them that I have had problems in the past with maintenance personnel being suspected of stealing my personal property and it is my right to have the option to be present when any person enters my apartment. If they won't agree it to it, rent somewhere else. It is a very reasonable request.

The wireless security I linked above is simple and should keep your maintenance man on notice. Let the landlord know that you have a personal security system and to notify you if they hear it go off. You could take it a step further and say that some cash hidden in the kitchen went missing with no visible sign of entry, and you're taking these steps to help your girlfriend feel safe.

That sucks... When i lived in an apt they never came in. Unless I asked. They also have to give 24 hours notice (in california) for entry unless its an emergency. I did 1 1000w grow, and they were paying the electricity. lol I shared the same elec. with a neibor.. (studio apt)

if you are that scared about it then give it up. a lot of people think, myself included, that you can cause something to happen by fearing it intensely. i know that most of my fears have been realized...

it all comes down to this: "if you cant do the time, then don't do the crime"
