just made this and will see how well it works... I copied the one with the pencil holder cups that bongasaurus made. By the way how many of you guys wash the activated carbon before using it?

i'm going to make one of these soon.
question: not sure which way is best to use it?

is it better to stick it on the outside of the case (growbox), and have a fan blowing exhaust air into it and exhaust air finally comes out the outside of this filter?
or would it be better to put this on the inside of the case (growbox) with stinky air all around it and a fan to suck air from teh middle of it out into the outside of the case?

basicly would it best work with negetive air in the filter (fan sucking air out of it)
or positive air inside (fan blowing air into it)

sry if this question has allready been addressed,

edit: i see the question has allready been addressed, sry i read threw it after i posted :(
either way should work but negetive air seems to work better on the airflow.
ill post a few pics when im making mine and finished product ;)
thnx soo much for this awsome design...

You should never wet your carbon or it will stop working. If your humidity gets over 50/60 percent it will also be less effective.

Can a carbon filter homemade or pro be mounted on the outside of the box - directly on the outake vent or connected with somekind of tube.

i think its going be more efficient on the inside, just try it, if it dont work, put it on the inside, btw i have no ideal what im talking about

LOL... No, I don't have space for filter inside of the box.

Well, I made scrubber like bongasaurus's and mounted it on the ouside - it just works great. No odor whatsoever

Anyone have a cheap idea on how to attach one of these filters (the original one), to a 120mm fan or to a wall? I've tried assloads of various tapes with no luck. Currently no filter + 1 month. Any advice?

I made one with the pencil holders this morning and just duct taped that to my fan and then duct taped that to an exhaust tube and it seems to work great. Excellent idea, thanks guys.

Connoisseur300.....you mention about not wetting the carbon but I have heard others mention washing the carbon before using it to wash off the dust and then leave it outside to dry for a couple days in the hot sun??? I too have heard that moisture will ruin a carbon filter so not quite sure which is correct????

I prewashed mine and put it on after noticing some stink. It still eliminated the odors.

question... im going to be running a cab with 3 to 6 babes at a time, if i use 3 120mm computer fans attached to the microscrubber from walmart in this thread, will it be enough to completely get rid of the smell? i need my apartment to be completely odorless when it comes to the MJ, because my mom will be paying me visits [ im a college student] thanks for the help!
the fan im using is called the Scythe DFS123812-3000 "ULTRA KAZE"
its rated at 46 decibels and 133 cfm
will 3 of these bad boys hooked up to the scrubbers be enough to vent the cab and get rid of the smell?
thanks for the help!

this might be a stupid question, but in the last pic of sugarbear's instructions. is the fan blowing into the scrubber or away from the scrubber?
