Those are some good looking plants Toodles. Can I assume that you make a complete soil mix and only add water? Keep up the good work

thanks bro.... i just heard about lime and you backed it up... when i set everything i will have a similar op as you... a Fl. veg... Hps tent... i have a little box im using for seedlings and clones to... well keep on with the good work.. ill be watchin..

DAMN those look good, Toodles. Love the structure on those...nice long buds stacked not too close but still full.

Nothing beats a good transplant. The plants shoot up a couple days after. I never see shock....must be the maxicrop....or the healthy plants. Proper stepping of pot sizes is so damn critical and often overlooked. Really helps stack the roots in the pots.

Damn Toodles, i shall have to say i am Amazed. I never had doubt, but i further understand what you were saying. Few quick questions...

Whats the deal when perlite turns that orangeish-brown color on top?
(same thing happened to me, best answer i got was that it had something to do with the oxidation)

I like the idea of haveing all your goodies straight in the soil. However, like Burn1 was saying i am new and thats not exactly something to jack with till you got other aspects of growing down.

Can you time nutes to be used up by flowering so you can use liquid nutes? Or do you just have it all in the releasing all at the right time?

I am foreign to the dry nutes. Other than dolomite i have never touched one. I went with FFOF + EWC + Perlite. I use liquid ferts and am seeing the down fall to that with the over watering and N def. so i can see the advantages to both. It just seems that you can add with dry nutes, but not subtract. (Ex. If your short on K add some in the water)

Again i do you know but would like to hear more. I have seen ma ny diffrent recipes, would you recomend one with LC's Max #1 or do you have your own soil as well.

Your welcome for the comment, i was just being honest.

Peace.

Very impressive. I'd say they can handle up to 30c/85f comfortably but if in doubt I'd lower food strength 'cos that can reduce water availability when overheated. Agree with you they look in great health and guess the thin leaves will broaden ie no need to do anything.

The cutting from seed you made (ie F2) still has plenty of vigor - wondering what proportion of your seeds (F2) flower this quick and/or proportion that look much more sativa ? :joint:

Wow so you've got a 50~ day SSH? Have you checked the trichs? Since it's from clone have you run it before, or is this the first time? I just went back but I didn't see much info on it, have you posted it somewhere else? Sorry for all the questions, she just looks great so I'm really curious.

This is great to see, I'm planning on making a lot of F2s with some plants I'm starting right now, the LG Thai x Deep Chunk. I can't wait to see the variety I get with those seeds. This is definitely going to come in handy, as I'll have to make a lot of these same observations a grow or two down the line. Thanks for taking the time to document this stuff.

Thanks, I like doing this stuff. I hope people will see the FUN of growing out seeds they make themselves.

DC and LG Thai!!

I bet that WILL produce some variety. That should be fun growing out f2 seeds from something like that cross.

It'll be intersting to see which traits will come out in the cross, ya think?

Toodles :rasta:

This cross is two old school strains, a thai sativa and an afghan indica. That's what I'm growing right now, and I'm expecting a certain amount of uniformity. When I cross these plants, the seeds I get should result in a range of characteristics, from heavily sativa influenced, heavily indica influenced, and hopefully some beautiful combinations of traits.

I can't wait to get started on those. If F2s from a cross like this were available I'd definitely pay money for those, I've got a feeling there's going to be some amazing plants to be found, and like you I look forward to sharing the possibilities of making seeds yourself.

The seeds I'll be working with, and the ones you have toodles, you can't buy. Maybe I just haven't found the place, but where can you buy a pack of seeds with the main intention of getting as much variety as possible so you can find something you really like, while knowing the genetics behind it?

I don't know, maybe it's not that popular, but I'm really looking forward to growing these and having such a spectrum to choose from, I should really be able to find something that fits my situation.

If I find something good enough, I might take the breeding further to refine it. That's a ways down the road for now, I'll take things one step at a time for now.
