last grow i vegged from seed and flowered all under 250 CMH. fast growth. now that i have a seperate mom tent, that is lit by T5's, 4 bulb 4' fixture. i have 6 bogglegum cuttings i took friday so alittle early to tell growth with them, BUT i have 2 GHS cheese which i planted cracked beans of on monday. 6 days later, they look how they looked on like wed. really no growth in like 3 days. about 1/2" tiny sprout. looks good but just tiny compared to what seedlings looked like in a week under CMH. is this slow growth normal, am i impatient, or what. :rasta:
also only watered once on mon. they will only need watering tomorrow OR tues. once every 6 -8 days? using promix BX w/ about 15-20% extra perlite added. tent about 80. thx :joint:

From my experience there is no way you can blame the light at this point. It is so very easy for any little thing to cause a plant to do something different each time. Slight pH problems, hot soil, etc...
Even when we try to exact conditions, there are factors at work that are not obvious and beyond our control.

I did find, surprisingly that my T-5s (216 watts, 4 x 4') did not do as well as the 400 MH in the first four weeks. However, I still believe that in the first week the T-5s have plenty of light for the seedlings.

Just my experience but for new seedlings, the better the light the slower the growth seems to be at first.

I'm no botanist but maybe they spend as much as energy as possible laying down roots and if they need more light they start stretching up to find it?

Haven't tried T5s yet but some growers have lifted the lights to get a bit of stretch, the plants only growing outwards and outwards freaks them out lol.

When I used to start seeds under cfl they'd get to be as lanky as cress pretty quick. Now they start under a 400w cmh and I can leave them in their original peat pots for almost 2 weeks after sprouting without them looking to be in danger of falling over.
