Michigan bud scene?

I'm from California and just moved to western Michigan to go to school. I heard the weed scene was pretty weak in terms of quality, but then I read the laws which seem outrageous; smoking in a park is a felony and you can be charged just for using it in your home in private. Am I missing something here or is Michigan really that uptight about marijuana?

Lived in Detroit for a long long time... If you dont grow your own hope you enjoy Canadian beasters... They come across the border by the semi load and there arent many growers like in Cali. Few years back when I was growing various strains from Nirvana people acted like it was the best thing since sliced bread.

i recently moved to mich. and ive bought one sac. it was really expensive 55 for an 1/8 but it was quality sinsemilla. nice sticky nugs with little or no stem. yesterday i went to a cheech and chong show and smoked up with the chix that parked next to me. it was quality too. i expect she or someone she knew grew it cause she had 3 strains with her, purple, sour d, and herijuana. she gave me a choice and i picked herijuana soooo nice. but yea pretty much what ^^ said

I lived at the Detroit Area in the 1999 and 2000,,, i remember been 3 months trying to find good weed and good prices,,, i had luck cause i could send me hash from marocco at that time.... before the sept.11 was really easy to send cards with this staff... and it was kind of difficult for a basque like me to find good staff at first arrive
anyway i had a good contact that he gave me really nice sinsemilla for good prices... i remember to buy bags around 25 gr...
I think that weed came from canada,,, never knew the name of the strain... some of them where skunkis,, other more hazes.... good stuff for good prices for been the states.... and i lived in utah and Phila and was more expensive

In the Detroit area it's reasonably easy to find, just avoid street deal as you WILL get ripped off. Like most places it is a friend-of-a-friend situation. Medical pot is legal in Detroit (as it now is in the rest of the state) but more liberal on the east side of Michigan.

It was decriminalized in Ann Arbor, readily available from friends at U of Mich. It is also very easy to find at W. Mich U and Mich State.

In West Michigan, outside of uni's, it is a bit of a different scene. The area is greatly influenced by a conservative dutch religious ancestory. You will have trouble finding it here.

I've been smoking around here for 12 or 13 years now. I've finally come across someone who actually HAS good pot and can tell me exactly what it is. He won't sell it though, and neither will I. lol -funny how that works.

I've found lots of good pot over the years, but no one has ever been able to tell me what it was that I was buying. You'll come across it from time to time, but don't expect it to be anything like cali. When you do find it, be prepared to pay for cali though. $400 a oz - easy. And whatever it is, however it was grown, expect the punk ass hood rat selling it to you to call it 'dro just before he cocks his crooked little ball cap a little more crooked. And he'll tell you that's all you need to know.
