250W CMH grow - in soil from seed.

Have just started my third grow in soil.




I Have basically got 9 x AK48 (nirvana seeds) and 8 x White star (Hempstar x white rhino cross) in a cabinet, roughly a meter square, under a 250W CMH.
They will be moved into a seperate flowering room under 600W HPS when the time is right.

In the above pic, the three pots at the back of the left tray had not germinated when i potted them up. The rest had a good 6-7mm of tap root showing. Was a bit spaced from fruits of my last grow when potting up, so dont know if the pot on the far left has a bean in it or not - Doh!

Anyway. More updates as they happen.

One immediate plus from the CMH bulb, nice clear pictures with light turned on.

Day 3 - All beans that germinated now have heads above ground.

Temps at between 75-80 deg, ph of water adjusted down from pH 7.8 to pH 7.
Rh at between 40-60%.
Light on 20/4.

I like CMH, just added a 600w HPS to my 400w CMH, but it really is an amazing light, or cannabis is jsut an amazing plant.

I found hydro did about 3x better (literally) under CMH than soil did for me, but I was shooting in the dark with soil at first.

Hopeing for great things from this grow. It is my third in soil, and i feel like i have a proper schedule this time, rather than just flying blind.

Was hopeing to do a side by side grow with a 250W CMH and a 250W HPS, only got one 250W ballast though.

Thanks for the luck, it might keep the borg (spider mites) away. I have been infested with them before so am keeping a really sharp eye out.

Heard a lot of good things about CMH, if half of them are true this should be an awesome light. I just like the colour correct pictures at the moment.

Day 9-



Repotted yesterday into 7cm pots. Also nipped out top buds.
Useing Plagon- soil mix with perlite as a growing medium.

AK48s in red pots, White star in green pots.

That's a good idea for keeping them separate. I took a bunch of clones a while back and haven't the faintest clue what is what. I'll have to do something similar next time since stakes and stuff always get confused for me.

Or I could just not be lazy and duct tape them and write what they are. Heh.

Looks good for 9 days, though that seems early to top?

is 250w CMH better than 250w HPS? Im planning to grow some badass genetics from 12 12 or max 2 weeks of vege.. looking forward to see ur grow.. take care

moleculist- It is early to top, but i want these ladies to be really squat and bushy. Colour coded pots are ok if you havent got to many strains going. I know what you mean about getting mixed up, last grow i had cindy 99, doublegum, papaya, white star and hazy widow, all got totally confused.

Dhor- CMH bulbs are supposed to have a better spectrum for veg than HPS and MH, switching to 600w HPS for flowering. Had hoped to do a side by side with 250w CMH and 250W HPS, unfortunately short a 250 ballast.

Repotted 9 AK48 into 15 ltr pots. now under 600W HPS.






5 Whitestar still under 250W CMH.

AK48's established in new pots. More bending and nipping this week to keep tops even.



Whitestar's still in small pots, crying out to be repotted. Doing it first thing tomorrow. Still under 250 CMH.




Giving AK's 2 Ltr water at pH 6.7 every 2 to 3 days. Watering from top of pots.

Repotted Whitestars 3 days ago. Still under 250 CMH, adding 250 HPS at the weekend when i get new ballast.




AK48s looking very bushy.





Also noticed what looks like first female preflowers









No sign of the borg so far this grow. Keeping everything crossed and a sharp eye out.

day 42

A lot been happening in the green room. Added a light mover and dropped the 600 W hps down to within about 8 inches of the plants.




Also the AK48 showing pre flowers 10 days ago while still in veg, has been cloned and kept as a mother plant







This plant has never been under 12/12 and yet shows flowers at every internode, she is bursting with girlyness.




Main room been on 12/12 for 1 week. Dont know whether to trim more of the bottom foliage back, doesnt seem to be getting much light.

Have been trying to sex the plants under 12/12. not 100% sure these are male flowers. Although this is my 3rd grow these are my first males. Can anyonre confirm that they are boys before i give them the chop.
