Back off on the N. Sats in general and especially sats in flower need very little of it. When your leaves curl downward, that is a classic N overfeeding sign.

:yeahthats

I use the Lucas Proportions. Note I didn't say Lucas Formula. The Lucas Formula says 0-8-16. My Sativa say 0-3-6 is way too strong. Most commercial feeding formulas have no relation to plant health. They're formulated to deplete your cash as quickly as possible.

smoketilluchoke: I want to add that they're really not that bad (no leaf burn and the curling is only minor), but if you really want to get them dialed in and minimize stretching, you'll need to reduce/eliminate your N. Nice 2nd grow BTW I see you've been reading motaco's root-binding thread.

FreezerBoy: I hear you on the nutes, the more I grow, the more I find myself going organic.

weed ninja thanks alot

ive read motacos thread but not until 2 days ago

so ive been repotting the way i usually do- same as the other 2 strains
i didnt do any root binding on purpose

i grow in pots anyway(organic) using biobizz nutes

i thik the stretch has stopped but ill back off on the N anyway

I have a similar problem. So i will try this too . I have been thinking that was probably the problem . i have already cut the level of N in the last feed they got in an attempt to minimize stretch also.

MAny thanks for confirming my thoughts WeedNinja K+

Ps i`m trying to minimize the stretch on this sativa cross as it was starting to hit my lights. ,

i`m gonna try a self SCROG on itself.

I really think you need a larger pot for that large plant. You are going to shoot yourself in the foot yield-wise, and downcurling leaves are not only a symptom of N overdose, but also of a rootbound condition becoming harmful to the plant.

stinky attic

the size of the pot is partly to keep the size of it down

it already massive surely if i repot it

it will grow bigger

this will not help my situation, as i have other strains in the same tent( indica) which are already a bit shorter than this ie- not as close to the loight as they should be

It's YOUR plant... but if you DON'T repot it, it is not going to finish well... or at all. Soil chemistry gets REALLY wacky when the plant size/ root mass:dirt volume ratio gets too high... Good luck... You have some time before it's an emergency, but certainly a larger pot in the next couple weeks is going to become an obvious necessity. You will see. My friend flowers out 6+ foot sats indoors in 20 gallon feed tubs and they STILL finish rootbound- yours looks about what, 3-4 feet right now? I'd put it in a 5 gallon pail with a ton of drain holes. But that's just me.

thanks for the info m8

yes it is 3 feet

i have always been told that its a bad idea to repot once into flowering???????

because the roots will grow at a much slower rate than in veg

Actually while the roots may grow slower, it is perfectly fine to re-pot in flower. You'll just want to be extra careful not to bust up the root ball. Your goal is to get fresh soil around the roots and not stress the plant while you're at it.
I'd wait until the root ball is quite dry before re-potting, and whack the pot really hard on the bottom so the whole mess slides out cleanly, and put it in fresh plain soil with some extra lightener in it. If you like ferting in your soil, I'd still avoid anything like MG or MGO that has nitrogen in it, because as others have mentioned, sats are quite sensitive to N during flower. They seem to thrive in rather poor, light soil.

i was reading motaco's thread on sativas and he INTENTIONALLY keeps them in small pots

sorry not tryin to be argumentative but i really cant afford for this plant to grow bigger

No worries, your plant. IMVHO, height control is best done before flower, and once in flower, you gotta go with what you see the plant needing. Just watch for signs that you are having a hard time feeding/watering it correctly, adn when you see them (I honestly hope you don't), it's time. Good lcuk!
Cute dog too- I have a white and brindle OEB x Boxer (in my gallery) who looks similar. Aww.

Bhuddahat has the right idea. If you can't bend the whole plant, try individual stems.

She laughed at supercropping. Topping just pissed her off and made her grow faster. Bending not only provided a considerable stall but slowed remaining growth in the sense it was spread along several buds per stem. Left me some interesting colas

freezerboy thank you for the info

but the height is not my problem

my problem was the leaf curl, and just the fact it doesnt look as healthy as the other strains i have- therefore i thought i may have been feeding incorrectly

I have to point out that there is a difference between a sativa, a sativa dominant hybrid and a hybrid that contains sativa. If you want me to elaborate I will. Another thing I have to mention is that you are more likely to get away with a small pot with clones.

Just for the record, I would've either FIM'd and then pulled down the individual growth tips or just snapped the bitch.

well weed ninja

the strain is martian mean green x g13 haze if this helps

so i would say its a sativa dominant hybrid, the martian mean green is 60% sativa before crossing to g13 haze, so i would say it is now 80% sativa

these were freebies too!!!!!
