Growing from seed Question

hi all,

ive been growing for a little while now, but it's been mostly from clone (i've grown out maybe 30 seeds over the past 3 years). just recently i've began germinating about 60 seeds. Double Strawberry Diesel (Rez), Wonder Haze (Rez), Master Kush (White Label), Mandala #1 (Mandala), Kalichakra (Mandala), and South African Durban Poison X Skunk #1 (Sam the Skunkman freebie.)

i'm germinating in rockwool cubes - started about 3 days ago. so far i have 30+ seedlings germinated. they are in a tray on a germination heat pad and under a CF bulb that rates like a 1000w incandesant... anyway, my question is -

what next? when is the optimal time to transplant them? i was planning to xplant into 16 oz plastic cups - usually i go right into coco/perlite, but for seedlings was planning on using Light Warrior. so when is the right time to transplant them?

thnx all!

i find it disheartening that no one in the grower's forum has commented on this. i dont want to loose any seeds (and seems that 3-4 have wilted over...) i added about 1/4" of water + roots excellurator to the bottom of the tray, and dropped the rockwool cubes down for a sec, then drained the remaining water...

again, guessing i will xplant tonight into 16 oz plastic cups... but i'll try and wait for some response. and post a few pics to show the stage im at. thanks again

Sorry, I'd answer your question, but I don't know anything about rockwool cubes, since I've never used them before.

When I've done seeds in peat pucks, I transplant them to larger cups when I see a few roots coming out of the bottom and sides.

Exactly, you can either put them into 16oz soil cups when the roots emerge from the bottom of the rockwool or now

It doesn't really matter since they have all germinated and sprouted

awesome, and thanks.

i'd say about 8-10 had a root (probably the tap root) showing at the bottom of the rockwool cubes. i'll be transplanting them tonight before i loose any more (at least it was only 4 or so.)

cheers! :headbange

hey dude!!! i finally hopped back on ic. feels good :) im hopin over to seed aswell. uncle is bringing around 300 seeds with him from Hawaii, dont know the strain so im naming it mystery. goin to try and do 20 at a time and pick out the males and plant 20 more. hold the males and give seed growing a whack. gotta move to a new house this weekend so in a couple of weeks ill gettt it kicked off. might start some now at parents house .. who knows..,.,. i still wana give you some strains and other patients some 4week olds to finish out and keep a % of the harvest and kick back to me. you got me thinking about straight vegn in quantities (give out or sell to club ) and grow a few for myself that are one hitters. hope all is well :)

drink a monster , smoke a bowl :deadhorse :bis:

They are ready to transplant now. when you see the first set of leaves put them in 3 or 5g pots. I dont wast my time with smaller pots less stress the better

When I started in cubes, they took about 3-7 days before cracking open.......But it mostly depends on how "fresh" the seeds are
