Single or multi colas?

What is beter for potency? Small single colas plants or large multi cola plants? Or no difference at all?

Im just going to guess and say single colas... or it doesnt matter.. just growers opion.

I don't have any data to back up my claim, but I would think the difference would be negligible. When you top a plant a get multiple colas, the hormones ARE spread out more than in a one cola plant, but I don't think there would be a noticeable difference.

I see an opportunity for a study....

Potency would remain unaffected by the amount of colas, it is the yield that would be affected. If you have too many tops, then the plant may have lots of small"popcorn buds". A couple tops and the plant trained right, can result in baseball bat sized colas

has nothing to do with potency @ all. i'd go single for SOG's. other than that multi. i LST and on one plant i have a nice even canopy with about 10-14 tops. i saw ten cause im expecting @ least 10 nice colas during flower

What about weight? I know whether a plant should be topped or allowed to grow a single cola has a lot to do with the strain. But generally speaking, which yeilds more weight, letting it go single cola, or topping? Thanx.

there both the same, its a matter of how you want to grow, SOG/small pots or largerpots and bigger plants.
space available etc

I think it's more to do with light. If you can penetrate, big ol' colas are great. If you can't, smaller and spread out is the way to go.

would roots not also play a role? i would think many bud sites would need a larger uptake system (roots)....no?
