HELP PLEASE! Planted seed in soil. will it sprout?

hey, thanks for looking.
i am growing ultra haze #3/
first grow went in soil- nice for a first grow.
second grow was in hydro- failed. root rot due to reservouir high temps. will retry at winter.

now , for about a year i was just cloning and spared the seed i have so i totaly forgot about germination..

latly i had to cleen the whole grow room from plants which left me no choise but to plant a seed.

the seeds were kept in a fridg for a year. in an light tight small metal box.

so 36 hours ago i took a sterile mini cup, with sterilized soil inside and completely wet. and puted the seed in the soil , bout 1/4' deep (a centimeter give or take).

today i remembered the towels soaking and...

so- should i gently remove the seed from the soil and but it in a paper towel?
should i start with soaking?
should i gust pray and hope?

please answer a.s.a.p as i guess time is crutial...

If it's in damp soil then it's probably already cracked - so no need to go into paper towel.

The only reason you germ in a paper towel is to determine which seeds are viable before you plant them. Disturbing it now will probably do more harm than good.

So patience. And pray if you like - but make sure it's to the right god (pray to the wrong one and you inflict a wrath).

temp is your friend in this case,

Make sure your soil is warm and wet and your seed will crack, can take up to 10 days for it it to pop its head out

to determine which god to pray to is not an easy task...
as a grower, baker and wine maker among other things i have a wide range of allmighty powers to praise... : ).
slowly i realise where the idia of one god came...
it is like one password to ....
any how, i guess i will wait..

although I do prefer the paper towel tech, you seem to have done everything right

Remember that sometimes seeds don't sprout, it is just the way it is.

No need to stress man, there are far worse things that can happen to your plants, than a seed not cracking

well with my grow i have found that the extreme and unconventional has been my only course of action that has yielded results, so what i would do is dump the whole cup on on some newspaper or something, break up the soil by rolling it back and forth and tfind the seed.

if it has sprouted then i would mix some superthrive to spec and spray the loose soil with it along with the sprouted seed while it was all still layed out, put all the soil back in the cup and then poke a hole in the soil for the seed, put the seed in there and then pack the soil GENTLY around it.

ill be updating my current thread with pics, but if you decide to check it out, i have come upon some (i imagine to most growers this would be true) unbelievable results in my grow (considering the methods i have used thus far). i havent changed the date in my sig yet, but i have been updating it from time to time at about a "every other day" rate.

but all in all, i seriously doubt that that bean has sprouted after 36 hrs in soil

I wouldn't remove the seed now, the main thing to look out for when starting in soil is to not let the soil be too wet or too dry. It is a very fine line too but you can do it. if you pinch the soil and it clumps up too much, it's too wet. I find that by using a sterile spray bottle you can spray periodikly as needed to keep it just enough moist to create a perfect enviroment.
