What's new

When to cutoff/consolidate budsites?

So I've got some plants that have been in 12/12 for about 30 days. They are indica dominate, safari mix/satori.

If it matters, I'm growing in canna coco coir, few plants in 2.5 gallon square pots, and a couple in 6 gallon round pots.

I've been using canna brand nutrients, still using canna A/B, no PK 13/14 yet. Also cal/mag+, hygrozyme, a 1/4 dose of floralicious, and at a PH of 5.8, still trying to dial it all in.

I know I have too many different strains, and did a number of things wrong/not the best way, I've learned, but I'd still love to crop out as much as I can!

It's my first grow, they veg'd for a long time, and grew too tall for my room, so I cut them back a tad about 6 weeks ago, but only 6-12 inches.

Until about a week ago, things in my room were a mess, plants pushed up close to the lights (2 x 400 watt CMH aircooled very well), too crowded, wasn't watering as often as I should (twice weekly) just not good.

So I dropped plants outside, removing a total of 5 from the room.

1 week ago I bent/tied back the plants by the main stalk, and was able to drop the lights by almost 2 feet.

Only problem now is that there aren't any main colas at all, not really even anything resembling a cola.

There are alot of budsites, some of which I know will be pointless.

However I also figure that I've got some extra flowering time added on, due to how things went, and tying the plants back, etc.

So I have a few questions...

#1. When should I trim budsites?
#2. What should I trim and when?

IE, if I cutoff a ton of sites right now, will alot of energy go into making a few solid colas, or will it stunt the plant?

What should I do? There are lots and lots of budsites. Lots.

I should take a picture in the morning, it'll explain things better.

Get all those budsites at a nice and even height using the ties. It will create a great canopy of buds. Don't cut them.

if you wanna cut budsites without lowering yield it needs to be done within 1st week of flower or so i have heard...

Well, that's fine then, I can leave them all no problem.

I'm just hoping I can get everything all more or less OK.

I'm hoping for a yield of .25 grams per watt, or about 7 ounces. More would be nice, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

dude'er leave them on check out how many i have on one plant. i use low stress training (LST) so that i can have a lot of budsites all growing @ the same height

I've got lots, some are starting to look like bud, stacking up nicely and getting denser/frosty, but still nothing huge.

Does the plant put most of it's budweight on in the last 4-5 weeks?

What do I need to do nutrient wise?

I know I need PK13/14, but I don't know how much.

I backed off on floralicious+ before, but I could start using it again.
