Hey Hydro-Soil guess in my post I didn't answer your question about a specific strain. But really some FMCD is the way to go, but it's hard to find in the clubs and even if you do find the real deal it is overpriced and not all that worth it.

But for a specific strain I'd definitely have to go for some Willie Nelson. The cut that one the cup used to be in my area and the smoke from that was incredible, but if I remember correctly you build a tolerance to it kind of quickly but that was I think about 3 years ago so I don't exactly remember. I know you can still buy Willie Nelson on Hemp Depot but not sure if it's exactly the same as before and then you have to find that special Vietnamese Black pheno because the rest aren't nearly as good.

as someone who's been smokin on little but full melt hashes for about 3 years now, i can say that i too have reached a point where i can only be high for maybe 30 minutes. I KNOW this is tolerance, but i felt i should share this because of sleepie's recommendations. hash only works for so long, mixing strains up/ and mixing methods of ingestion along with the setting in which you ingest helps make it fresh. I would also note that it does seem that some strains are better for longer term consumption than others, such as the bubba kush as people noted.

I'd second nepjam too, not as long as the haze cross but much easier on the nerves and less chance of racing thoughts being a problem. It's one of the rare paranoia free strong sativas.

Good Blueberry always lasted well into the day for me. I was kind of supprised that no one mentioned it. I have heard that UK Cheese is at least good about doing its thing all day. I hate it when you get bud that doesn't seem to work if I burn it again in the afternoon and then by evening is completely useless. So does anyone know cannabinoid-wise what is responsible for longer duration?

Hey Papulz your totally right, hash will only work for so long and it's way stronger so it just builds your tolerance that much faster.

I've always felt that the high with the pre-98 bubba (only had the real thing a couple of times) is not as strong as some of the other kushes but the taste beats all of them hands down.

As said get rid of the SD. Reaaal short high. I took the clone for 80+ days and while its a very pleasant high, it is short lived compared to others. Bubba Kush lasts but it is more medicinal and would probably contradict getting things done. Hazes were a good mention they area bitch to grow as mentioned. Marijuana effects all of use in different ways.

The main thing to do to ensure it last is to have more than one type on hand, actually multiple types. Smoke some others and find three you like. Some like to mix them but to me it just builds tolerance for all of them. You should smoke one type one day then another the next day. Keep switching it up and your highs will last. Quitting for a brief time will help. If a month is too long try a week or even a day will help.

Am I crazy or was MJ a longer high when I was a kid?.

Several reasons:

1) ppl hold a lower tolerance to dopamine receptions when starting out smoking mj.

2) the sativa strains of yesteryear were commercially replaced with the more indica based strains today.

3) 'Skunk' varieties of cannabis tend to open up neurological pathways on first encounter , which cannot always be fully replicated again on subsequent encounters.


Try 'Flo' , 'Super Silver Haze' ,, or a landrace / heirloom sativa...

All you folks worrying about CBD can relax. The vast majority of commercial strains contain less than .1% CBD. Some African and SE Asians strains may contain some THCV, which is a CB1 antagonist and makes the high last a little longer.

the hash idea is right on time. i think the residuals are what most people feel after the first few hours. anything dj releases seems to keep me "lifted" for hours and hours.

I remember toking up in the morning before school and still being blitzed at the beginning of lunch FOUR hours later...

What happened to that?

I've been picking up medical from the clubs and I swear I still run into some batches of SD that only keep me grooving for half an hour to 45 minutes.

Don't tell me it's tolerance build up either 'cause I just went through a dry spell of about 2 weeks.

I've also been tokin' for 20+ years and this has been bugging me for quite some time now.

If anyone is growing any smoke that lasts over 2 hours I'm seriously interested in the strain and your setup.

i noticed the same thing ... i've been puffing AAA buds all these time , and when i started .. I REALLY SMOKED TO GET HIGH! ... now , i smoke more becouse i am used too .... + it gets me high ...

but not as HIGH as before ,, in fact , i smoke joints these days that i didn't even dreamed off years ago...

I believe one way to ''recover'' that ''old school high'' is to lower the level of THC in the blood....

but then ....
I also believe that you can have that ''old school high'' ALWAYS ... .

IF you find the plant of (X) strain that ''matches'' you , your body , and your vibes ......

In my case .. yes i have buds that last 2hrs+ ... but i am looking for a 6hrs+...

Make Hash oil and you'll be high longer than 2 hrs. Any oil i have smoked has kept me high for 2 hrs or more.

Few genetics on the market today carry the sativa genetics you are looking for ,the biggest reasons are long flower periods and low weight...
Neville's Haze has individuals that carry these cannabaniods of yesteryear but you pay the price in the above traits....The herb is second to none when you locate a powerful individual...

The captain is right on here. the older sativa genetics of the good ol days are hard to come by. every once in a great while i will get my hands on some sativa outdoors and that shit sends me through the roof, No ceiling and sometimes a little to paranoid, I heard someone describe it on here as" the newer heavier indicas are bred to get yuo" low" compared to the "high" we experienced maybe in our younger days".

Im pretty sure you find yourself a stong sativa and flower her out you will find what your looking for and in my case sometimes to much Ie"paranoiaa"LOL
Durban poison may have what your looking for and it can sometimes have a shorter flowering time compared to others.Stil 90+ days though

people mention DJ Short strains....could this be due to the Thai that he has bred into them which seem to carry over to the high nicely, like in his BlueBerry, maybe he chose plants which have kept the cannabinoid profile of the HighLand Thai & Purple Thai(ChocoThaiXhighland Oaxaca). Thats alot of thai genes in Blue strains and explains why the high lasts longer than typical bud and why its of such quality:^)

I will vouch for the butter as well, but be judicious with it until you know what your dealing with.

I think most of the highs that don't last are partly do to the grower, and flowering time. Second being genetics. The Original Daywrecker Diesel (Headband, Underdawg) is pretty long lasting and intense, but I was lucky, for some reason the cut I was given pop's balls at about two weeks of flowering. Well the first run with this I also had a cut of Kyle Kushmans Strawberry Cough. Inspite of m picking the balls off of the OD, she knocked up the KKSC.

Four seeds were made. One of them in turn produced an awesome plant. A plant with a sweet smell with a light diesel overtone. Now you guy's that have grown these two strains know the deal, the OD is a big producer with a great high, and the KKSC is not such a big producer, but likes to branch out,and is a great high of its own right. The two combined to make a juggernaut of a plant with a soaring high. I should also mention that it has been flowered out over 9 weeks, and not even a banana, so she is pretty stable to boot. A friend nicknamed it the SCUD,and I think the name fits.
