The way that I understand it (I could be wrong) is Blue Moon was created from Micanopy Moonbeam X Vic High's Blueberry. This work was done by subcool. Then BOG crossed it to BogBubble to make BlueMoonRocks.

Supposedly Micanopy Moonbeam is/was Gainesville Green and the only person that I know of who still has some of this seed is REZ... Apparently when he used to trade, he aquired the seed from j. east, long ago.

I could be way off base here.... If someone knows for sure, please enlighten us with your wisdom.

Hope this helps.

Ive heard to that Micanopy Moonbeam/Gainesville Green is the much sought after Road Kill Skunk from the 80's. So yeah anything with that in it should be a great cross, even if it was made by that pollen chucker subtool.

I loved Bluemoon... I unfortunately lost it.

Huge yielder, obviously sativa dom (at least what I got) and debatably the most potent strain I've ever grown. I had a lot of stretch and I had to supercrop it quite a bit. I never knew its origin... I wish I could still find it.

Well well, what a surprise to see this, even years ago when the strain came out it was hard to find info on this, I'm shocked BRNEYDBVR knew about it, heh.

I remember hearing nice things about the Gainsville Green a long time ago... I hadn't heard that it may be a road kill skunk variety though, wow! I've always been curious about veritable strain legacies; here is something obscure I saved off Overgrow from a while back, rare info! :

BOG excelant job. The moon part of this strain is the famed Gainesville gren or Micanopy moonbeam. The mother plant is a f1 from a seed line 20 years old.
I used a blueberry from Vic highs stock the same one I made jcb with hes featured on my cover article. Check out the mass maroon stalk.
I went about 63 bog on mine but it smokes great from 55 on.

My goal as a breeder was to combine the Florida kind, The Oregon funk, and the lemony sativas from cali together. I achived about half of my goal and now with the help of others I can continue.
I have some original Dr Apollo that Br grimm started there seed bussines with. I will be working with Cindy 99 and JCB and moonbeam cubing to create a new strain.
I need some THC man this dutch weed is tired as hell.

Look for my genetics in 2002 at Seedsdirect.to

Anyone know more about OrGaNiX?

I saved this later on off OG, not sure if I dug it up from search or what:

There the same Blueberry Phen Types Micanopy Moonbeam or the famed Gainesville Green.
It produces the most berry smelling strain I've seen to date/

I've had hit and miss with Blue Moon Rocks, a couple were just terrible, but a couple others were sublime, not big yeilding but good smoke with an incredibly strong and nice aroma/flavor. The inconsistency not surprising I guess given the heritage and crossers involved , I'm glad to have some anyhow... hearing that it may contain some RKS makes me want to work it even more. Here is one from seed I've got going now:

Very nice Bumble Buddy!

I was wondering if anyone else was growing the BMR. I don't know about Micanopy Moonbeam being the RKS....could be, but I can't say that for a fact.

I enjoy my BMR that I have been growing for the past 2 years...

I still have a pack of the BMR to look through for a better pheno....but that will have to wait a while longer.

It's a bad pic....but here's my BMR only a few days into flower.

Very nice, icough!!

Those look really good!

The one that your going to keep seems to be the yielder.... but those others don't look bad at all.

Is there a particular reason that your gonna keep that one, besides the yield?

Nice work. :joint:

Thanks BRNEYDBVR. Yeah, it didn't just yield more, it smokes better too. It smells and tastes a lot like bubblegum, but it sometimes has another nice hint of some kind of sweet flavor that I can't quite put my finger on.

As for the plant I had in the back left, I didn't even smoke it because it was just an unhappy plant it's whole life, didn't give much for buds. I made bubble hash out of it. The front left one wasn't bad, but it isn't quite as frosty or tasty as the one on the right. All those bud shots are of the one on the right.

That would explain why the two I've cracked so far smelled like baby diapers in veg. :rasta:

I have a mammoth BMR mom that is a year old. I am just now cutting down my first run of her cuttings. As I have said in other posts, this stuff just makes you think blue: blue cotton candy, bluewrasberry blowpops, grape soda, grap big league chew bubblegum, etc... It is outstanding. I had 2 vegging for a long time and 1 was male, so I cut 2 cuts from him and sent them into flower with my female cuts to make some f2's. I also collected some pollen to brush on my Super Sweet Cindy 05 in a week or so. If I have enough, I will be sending both crosses into seedbay as freebies. I also have 2 more BMR f1 beans as well that I will start when I have the time and space.

Lets keep this BMR thread going!
