the dr120 is 3'11 x 3'11 so u would need t5s just under 4ft long .i used 4ft t5s in my dr150 .the dr150 is 4'11x4'11 i used 3 t5 units each has 4 bulbs so 12 bulbs total those vegged my 20 plants pretty good.

anyone wanna reccomend a good feminized homogenius strain for my dr 150 tent?

I am planning a 2 gallon bag sog grow..... how many 2 gallon bags can i fit in the dr 150

NCF20 - Gee, I'm puttin' a similuar list together around the DR 150 Wide but with a 600W digital (Galaxy), SS2 Hood, Carbonaire 4" Filter & Hort Eye bulb. Just got the new 6" 235cfm Vortex so it looks like around $700 & I'll be set to do my 3rd grow.
Still bouncing back & forth between the DR120 & the DR150W. I'll be better able to camo the Dr150W as a freestanding wardrobe, than the 120, but still doin' the math.
Keep us posted with your set-up, we all love to see pics...

150 might be a little big for a 600... even if the digitals do actually pump out like a 1k... 150w with a light mover would be sick! 600 seems perfect for the 120... Two-gallon grow bags measure 5.75" x 10" x 6.5" sry I can't do this right now lol :joint:

bghydro dosn't have the 150w in stock :( otherwise id prolly go with it and a 600w or maybe a 1k depending..........

i am gona use the regular 150 with a 1k and i hope that i can reach in there to water the plants where there are 40 bud sticks in there haha....

i might have to get a power sprayer thing that you fill with nutes/water does anyone have one of those?sure would make things easier

btw i still haven't decided on a good strain to run anyone got any ideas??????????

im gonna do a sog from seed with fem seeds...

yeah i know they have side windows but the lesser brands don't...

ive got 950.00 right now to spend and the total of all that stuff is $1247 maybe ill downsize it to 600w to try and save money even though you can get 1kw stuff for the price of 600w stuff, not sure what to do with about 1k...

You could probably use just 1 Vortex for your light & scrubber & with passave intake save some money on fans. Also you might be able to get away with the cheaper 4" Carbonaire scrubber since it will do a 8'x8'x8' room.
Make sure to check out Plantlightninghydroponics.com for deals on ballast/hood/bulb combos. The 600W Galaxy/SS2 Hood/Hort Eye bulb with the 4" Carbonaire comes to $450 before shipping (from them), the 1000W combo is probably close to that number too.
Strains? - Man, you'll be able to grow anything but redwood trees in there. Sorta like recommending to somebody which car or motorcycle to drive... (I'll take a Suzuki DRZ400 Super-Motard, please)

Good setup...consider this

NorCal,

Vortex fan moves 449 cf per min. which is 2x the capacity of the tent. Only need one fan to cool light and exhaust. Go from filter, to light, to out vent on top of tent. Passive intake is fine. Use angled flex tube to keep light from escaping through intake vent. If you run 1000w, don't bother getting a fan controller...it will be on all the time. Go with 600W instead..light closer to plants and easier to control heat.

Man that dr150w looks sweet! I guess I'm going to have to retire the dr80 this winter...

I really do only need one fan to cool the light and the room? So I could use a 600w light with only 1 6inch in the tent and be ok? are you sure? how would i do that? would i put the fan in the tent and push air through the carbon filter then through the light and exhaust it?

Hey NorCalFor20 I have no experience indoor but I've been researching for a 1000 hours a day on this site so I think I can give some advice. First you have to make sure you're not pulling too much air out of the scrubber or it will not work properly. Second if you want to use one fan then you want to pull air through both the scrubber and the light. You can get a Y shaped duct piece I think and put it outside the tent then attach it to the fan.

Though if it was me I would just use two fans. If you had one fan on full speed for the light and the scrubber sucking air out you'd probably need another intake fan anyways because you'd be sucking out more air than you would need to if the scrubber had it's own fan. Really though I'm not sure those DR150's have a lot of intake vents so if they were all open it might be enough.

Also did you say your going with just one 600? I am planning on getting one of these tents soon and there is no way I would settle for a 600 with that much space.

Take all my advice with a grain o salt because I'm a total newb, though I'm pretty sure it's good. :joint:

yeah i might need to get 2 fans eventully im not quite sure what to do yet. All i know is i need to save my money otherwise I won't be using too much wattage :(

I got about 900 now need about 3-500 dollars more to set up a 1k tent right...

and I was only gonna put 600 in a dr120 not a 150 but i am wanting to go all the way with the dr 150 anyway might just get everything but the tent itself and then get the tent when i can afford to start the grow. no problem with having nice equipment sitting for a month or 2 before it gets used right? :(

Have u looked into other grow tents? I just got a Homebox thats 39X39X76 for only $160

By the way if your looking for hydro equipment on a budget check craigslist on the daily, thanks to craigslist i've been able to purchase a complete growsystem for around $250(400w hps with air cooled reflector, Homebox L, "4 centrifugal fan)

I'm kind of in the same boat you are in Norcal. Gunna be moving very soon but I don't have quite enough money to set up the tent properly. I will however have enough cash to buy a big 4' 8 bulb T5 that I will use to veg for a month or two until I have all my equipment set up for the tent.

I figure I can just run that thing and use a regular oscillating fan to keep everything cool. What I'd like to do is get a fan, the tent and the T5 to start vegging everything. Then as I get the money I will buy a scrubber, the HPS, hood, another fan and whatever else I need. So my initial cost will be under a grand, I don't know if it's the best idea but I'm sure it'll work. I'll probably just end up buying the T5 with no tent and just start vegging right away.
