I see the commercials every day and it drives me crazy.. I'm in pretty populated metropolitan area (Buffalo/Niagara Falls, NY) and there is no Sonic to be found anywhere close by!! Everybody I know around here always wanted to go to Sonic, but I've never seen one anywhere close. Should I start a petition?

Wow, your situation is identical to mine! Always see the commercials when the nearest one is a state away. The burgers are so huge and delicious and forget about the shakes!!

Add me to this boat. I've never even seen one and they have so many commercials in this area. From the sounds of it their marketing people need to learn where to advertise better. Damn, now I'm hungry.

Closest one to us is 46 miles away, that's 92 miles roundtrip, for some grub. A little bit out of the way.

yup here in the bay area they play the same commercials but the closest one is in tracy which is a long ass drive.the time i did go there though i wasnt impressed. its all about in and out burger and when i went to nyc its all about white castle.

We always see the damn cicis pizza commercial out here in socal. Pizza buffet for like five bucks. Stupid how they would even waste air time teasing people.

might not be a bad idea to start a franchise...

Profile:
Sonic Drive-In Carhops have been serving up beloved American food and signature Sonic favorites at "the speed of sound" since 1953. Sonic is parked in a very prominent place in the annals of drive-in history. Not only did we develop innovations in the drive-in concept, but we are one of the few remaining drive-in chains left in America. In an industry overwrought with automation, Sonic keeps the personal touch. Carhops still deliver food prepared-to-order right to your car.

Sonic still make the best burgers and malts, plus signature goodies like Extra-Long Cheese Coneys and Chocolate Cream Pie Shakes. Our appeal doesn't necessarily hail from the past, but from an energy and personality that has thrived by surprising and delighting generations of Americans. sonic is a damn fine burger joint but only a close 2nd to in-n-out burgers!

and whatever became of big boy restaurants? i loved those big boys and crispy golden brown onion rings w/homemade milk shakes served in those big tin gobletts!

btw, both sonic and in-n-out are scattered all over vegas...baby!

Dude, 650k to 1200k is nothing, all you need is a couple folks to buy into the franchise.

Mickey D's requires AT LEAST a million dollars in UNBORROWED money.

Sonics seems like a good investment, as it fits into both the mainstream and the niche markets, with allt he different drinks and desserts and whatnot. I have never been to one, hence, never seen a sonic kitchen, but unless they have very few kitchen employees, payroll costs have gotta be a pain in the ass, because of all the carhop servers(i wuold guess).

Sonics are everywhere here, have grown up eating there. great stuff but too much and it gets old real fast. no better place to stop and get a drink though. mmmmmmmm Double Sonic burger and tatertots and then....... holy crap i am uncomfortably full! Sonics generally are a good investment but location is very very important with those (as with most restaurants). I would hate to have to run one of those though, they dont exactly attract the best workforce.

In-n-out >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sonic. Five Guys burgers beat both though, but its not a drive-thru.

Big Boys is still around, don't think there are that many left... I have one about 40 miles from me, which isnt much further than the nearest sonic...

I've also heard they don't have Popeye's in upstate New York. LOL

Sonic's are all over the place where I live. Breakfast all day ftw.

What we don't have here is Chick-Fil-A. They advertise all the time, but the nearest one is in Kansas City or some shit like that; 200 miles away.

Recently we just got a couple Fat Burgers nearby. For years I've been trying to get enough capital to start one. Fuckers beat me to it. I've also looked into opening an In n' Out Burger, but they're even more stingy than Fat Burger in selling franchises.
