Did everyone see this? Posted to NORML on 8/25

According to the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, colloquially known as MRSA or ‘the superbug,’ is now responsible for more annual US deaths than AIDS. Yet despite this sobering statistic, it’s unlikely that either JAMA or anyone in the mainstream US media will report on the findings of a forthcoming Italian study — you didn’t actually think I was going to say that this took place in America did you? — demonstrating that compounds in cannabis possess “exceptional antibacterial activity” against multi-drug resistant pathogens, including MRSA.

For the "science geeks (like me)- the study. This is a goodie to show your doctor! MRSA scares the heck out of many doctors!

And Wunderkind. As long as Robin had cannabis, she lived. It was her medicine. In my eyes, her situation was no different from withholding pain-killing opiates from a cancer patient and then blaming it on "mental illness" when s/he commits suicide from the unendurable pain. Pain CAN drive you mad!

Also, if Cobain had stuck to cannabis, instead of hard drugs, he would still be alive and making music.

You aren't really answering or replying to my posts. You're just making generic statements & claims. I should prove you're lying? HA! You haven't backed up anything that's been questioned by me or Trouble. You just reply to our posts with rambling nonsense, just like you've done here. VVV

OK .. things are slowing down a little for me.

I think that it may become like trying to kill ants one at a time .. but I think I'll try to answer now.

Lies .. You really haven't posted anything to show where I'm lying about anything.

Word games .. Yep. I posted the opening question in a biased format. If I had posted the question in a simple "Yes or No" format, would you have voted "Yes?"

Heresay .. That's a good one. A religious statement. If we do chapter and verse right here, IC will probably kill the thread. Where would you suggest that we cross verses?

Don't you mean "What we are trotting out?"

What are you trotting out right now?

Rev. G.

Storm Crow - thanks for helping me prove my point about heresay.

No, I wouldn't have, because it isn't a lie. The U.S. Government currently has no accepted medical use for marijuana. That isn't a lie, that isn't a word game.

The supreme ruled about that word "accepted."

Within the CSA who does the accepting isn't the US government. It's the states that do.

And it isn't "US government accepted" it's "accepted within the United States."

No, the federal government does. The federal government rules over this country which includes every state within the Union. If the federal government says marijuana is illegal and there is no accepted use of medical marijuana, which they've said both. Hence, the raids in California.

You're wrong and you're going about changing peoples minds in the wrong way. Oh wait, you aren't trying to change peoples minds. You're just preaching to the choir....
To those who are believing.

Are you trying to say that someone in some office in DC can make anything against the law on their own whim?

To exercise power they have to have the authority to do so.
That power is granted by law.

The DEA did not have the authority granted to them, in the CSA, to determine "accepted medical practice within the US." Since that authority had not been granted, they do not have the right to simply assume that authority. That would represent dictatorial power. Which they do not have.

W

Again, you're wrong. The DEA does have the power to enforce this country's laws.

Federal law is the law of this country. States can make their own laws, like MMJ states have done, but since they're part of the United States, those state governments have no say in federal law. If the federal government wants to enforce federal law in an MMJ state, it's their legal right to do so, and all that state can do is say "please dont."

Do you also want to argue Denver vs. the State of Colorado?

Yes they do. But they are not allowed to make up their own laws to enforce.

The CSA, according to the supreme court, does not give them the ability to determine what is "accepted."

That authority exists elsewhere.

They can only recognise what is accepted in the US. Not define it.

Peanutbutter, when you have to make-up figures, deliberately distort facts, and basically lie, to try and convince others, it makes you the same type of hypocrite and no different than the government your condemning in the first place.

I personally feel that this type of approach & behavior does more harm to legalization efforts than good. No offense, however, all I really see here is you mentally masterbaiting for your own personal satisfaction and nothing more

Do you have a plan, method and time frame?

You don't like the way I'm trying to get it done.

What's your plan?

although I applaud your attempts, do you really think it helps the cause when people find out the truth that you made up the majority of your numbers?

No, it makes REAL numbers and REAL info that much less believable because they will all think its propaganda. You are not helping the cause by distorting the truth. There is enough REAL numbers out there for you to use that will change the way people think instead of using made up numbers and lies.

I believe the only numbers I mentioned, that are in question are:

80 million people arrested. I did not state any time frame with that figure.

between 70 to 80% of Americans are OK with a doctor writing a prescription for marijuana. ** Please note that Gallop has already been declaired invalid.

Another was about millions of innocent citizens dying because of being denied medicine. ** This is the toughest one as it is hard to define.

Is that everything in question? All the numbers?

So you think it's ok to lie to try & make your point?

fyi, I've worked for Gallup. Your numbers/claims are simply false.

So you're like President Bush? You've never admitted you've lied, therefore, you haven't lied.

Personally, I'd like to see your sources of the Gallup polls. That is, if you haven't purely lied about them.
