My bottle of Humex exploded on me the other day, I was keeping it on the shelf above my light and I guess it was a bit too hot up there and it like busted at the cap and the bottle is all bloated, I woke up and I was like thinking "I smell fucking feet!". When I went into the room I saw black shit dripping from the shelf and it smelled like pure stanky ass feet man, I got like a half a bottle left, I still havent used it, not that excited about using it either.

I been reading up on it and Jorge Cervantes says Humic Acid will break down clay soils, so I think I will be using it outdoors next year, if I can keep it from busting open again. Man that shit smells bad guys, lol.

Jorge Cervantes isn't very knowledgeable, I've taken a number of soil science classes and never heard of it.

Humic acid's are simply organic matter in their most broken down form.

Sand, silt and clay are all made out of parent material (broken down igneous, metamorphic & sedimentary rock). The only thing that makes the difference, is the particle size of the broken down parent material. Clay happens to be the smallest of particles, so it binds together and isn't aerated as sand.

To say that the most broken down form of O.M. will break down clay is bs. Humates, will chelate bound up nutrient ions that may be stuck to the clay particles. Look up cation exchange and you'll understand more about how nutrients are stored and consumed by plants.

so I tossed the pure (aka turkey shit) and am using 5 ml of fish emulsion per gallon instead. the plants are doing great, i had a mg deficiency on a few plants and the fulvex cleared it right up. one of the plants was a seedling, i made a foliar spray with 1/3rd strength fulvex and seaplex. it cleared it up in a few days. i'm going to run this in veg til the nutes are gone and then make my decision.

I've been using Pure Blend Pro Soil with the Nitrex and Fulvex and am decently happy with the results. It's my first shot at an all coco grow. I'm using MaxiCrop and Turf Pro in place of the Humex and Seaplex.

I've been using:
Week 2-3
PBP at 15-20 ml. per Gallon
Nitrex at 4 ml.
Fulvex at 5ml.
MaxiCrop at 5ml.
Turf Pro at 5ml.

3 Weeks Flowering

Next 2 weeks:
PBP at 20-25ml
Fulvex 5ml
Maxicrop 5ml
Turf Pro 5ml

wont the calcium carbonate in calplex make soil ph difficult to get down to the slightly acidic level that our plants enjoy?

so in veg i'm using 10 ml fulvex, 5 ml seaplex, 5 ml calmag +, 1.25 ml floraliclious +, 5 ml alaskan fish emulsion, and 5 ml humboldt county flavorful humic acid per gallon. i just threw away the humex. every week or two the bottle kept swelling and i know that it was going to explode and leak that nasty crap everywhere. my plants are super happy and healthy. i'm not sure if i'm going to stick with this or not, we'll see when nutes get low.

Nice coco run JR. I grow in 100% coco (no soil added), and have been using Pure Blend for Soil, with Cal/Mag+, Fulvex and nitrex

I'm also happy with the results.
I'm almost out of Cal/Mag+, though. I'm switching to a combo--a Cal-Plex/Sweet combo--for cal/mag. You must get Ca from those additives, or some organic shit you add to the coco? If I ran that much PBP for soil I'd have mad problems.
PBP for soil has humic acid so the Humex is just overkill I figured. So I went for Fulvex, and what a difference it made--I even worked up the nerve to post pics of my sick crop.
I love the Organicare line, except Seaplex--that shit is useless IMO

i actually like the seaplex. the cal-plex replaces the calcium in calmag. the mag comes from the fulvex. not sure about the other minerals but i'm sure they're mixed in somewhere.
