sog = sea of green
scrog = screen of green
sog = high density growing with high plant count short veg time
scrog = high density growing with low plant count and longer veg time

Give the search function a try, just don't use the little box on this screen, do an advanced search and select "search titles only" and type in scrog, you will get MANY good examples. This will also work for sog, fim, lst, and all the other lingos that make sentences short but somewhat uninformative.

If you go to growroom design, at the top is a sticky called DIY linkarama. At the bottom of the linkarama is a link to the archived Overgrow FAQ's. Very useful info. I actually have it downloaded and use it sometimes.
SOG is basically growing alot of single cola plants. By trimming all the lower gowth, the plant maintains a single cola. Usually the plants receive very little veg time.
SCROG is using a screen to push all the branches outwards. Once flowering starts, only the budsites are allowed to come through the top.
I was really confused at first too. I was already growing and doing SOG before I realized it was actually called SOG
