Where to go in Nor Cal to get into 215 growing etc...

I want to move up to Nor Cal, but I was wondering what ya'll think.

Basically, I'm concerned about places like Arcata and the like...being SO hyped up now... that rents are high and its just not a chill place to live from all the attention.

Feel me?

Where can I go...where its chill with 420... where its not hyped up... where I can be near nature...but also find work... maybe a place that is not big either..?

Any ideas? For the longest time I did want to move to Arcata but now I'm wondering if its just too hyped up and I'd do better elsewhere.

humboldt is humboldt. dont let the govt scare you off. anywhere you move in cali is going to be expensive. come and join the family. but ddont live in arcata try somewhere around that area but not arcata or eureka.

From my understanding humboldt electricity companys have some wierd clause where they give u a certain amount of electricity a month to use and if u go over this set amount your electricity rate triples (from what i've heard the set electricity amount isn't even enough to run a desktop pc 24/7). In regards to original question theres tons of cheap houses up north(i suggest buying if u want to start a grow-op), anywhere from 30k-100k for some pretty nice places

Not at all, i've been looking at a ton of propertys latley and i've found alot of very nice homes in the 40-70k range. With so many people being forclosed on in CA u can get houses for dirt cheap


p.s. these house arn't shacks either, im talkin 2-3 bd with front/backyard(some even 2 story)

Yeah well I'm thinking maybe I should screw the idea of moving somewhere up north just cuz its more Mj friendly? i don't know...

I feel you on not moving to eureka or arcata...but I still might. I'm going to take a roadtrip and see where I land. I don't have the money to buy a house. I'd like to grow...but its just getting ridiculous... ideally I'd like to have my own pad and own it, so not to worry..maybe i'll just settle for growing a patch of lowryders outdoor or at the very least growing just the leaf outdoor and experiment with making tea out of that. seems kinda a hassle and definitely a project to find an indoor spot to grow.

i'd rather just grow outdoors... don't think u can really do that living in arcata or eureka...eh

not only are new comers to the emerald triangle not welcomed with open arms. the market is flooded. prices are down. and u will not find a home for 40 to 70 k. that doesnt happen in california. sorry to burst ur bubble.

when you say a place to grow, do you mean sell?

If you are just looking for a cheaper place to grow your own there is tons of places in northern cali, but if you are looking to sell it then ignore my post.

Places like Magalia, Paradise, Forest Ranch near Chico CA.

Places like Shasta lake, dunsmir, quincy, or Chester.

All outdoors style living. The problem will be what kind of profession you are in. I grew up in a couple of the places listed above, and I would love to move back but can't because I am in technology as a career and there is 0 jobs around those areas.

Also in the Chico and out lying areas you have Chico State which is a decent size university, so a lot of jobs that are not specialized are taken up by college kids

Koroz that seems like a good list of places to check into. I see what you mean about jobs though.

Initially a few years ago I thought about getting into the business of growing, as a way of making money... spose that could still be an idea..its just I got turned off by all the Feds. But I think there is still a real market for good quality honest medicine...and thats all I'd ever do.

The sheriff announced in the paper (2007) that anyone having 6 LEGAL plants that even LOOK like they will produce more than 8 ounces, would be arrested!

I know of a 2 year recommendation (dude was all crippled up and broke- getting to the doc was a big hardship!) that was tossed aside as "invalid" when the cops raided his caretaker- which led to the caretaker's arrest for "over the limit"!

Until the laws AND the sheriff's attitude changes, forget this county! If I weren't so dang loyal to my special ed kids, I would have left long ago!

I grow 6 "bonsais" indoors that produce just enough for the hubby and me!
