the problem with nano chillers, is they constantly run and don't chill your water if you are over 15 gallons.

Yeah, those are made for small tanks with little temp drop needed. Aquarium (coral) hobbiests run 78-81 degrees for the most part, we need 65-70. So we would need to size our chillers somewhat larger than aquarium reccomendations.

I have a two plant DWC w/ a 5 gallon res and a small fan evap cooling it but res temps are still like 74ish+ would that Imperial Garden chiller be enough to bring down my small res below 70? Every other nano chiller iv seen was like 300-400bucks.

yeah i wondering the same thing bro a nano chiller like these might work better anyone out there used these http://www.amazon.com/Imperial-Garden-Products-Chiller-CL150/dp/B000S9RWO0/ref=pd_sbs_hg_2 if it would keep res temp under 70f :bashhead:

Oh man I was looking at those like a month ago....when temps were crazy here. Anyway they are hard to find in stock for a good price. I saw two on ebay a while back and got outbid....THIS IS PERFECT FOR MY LIL DWC 10 gal!!! I want one badly


see that is just for the temp controller not the actual probe!

Got a better one. Go buy a water dispenser and take it apart down to the coils. Drop those bitches in and plug it in. Instant water chiller for $100.
