Yeah it is definitely a lot warmer, my carbon scrubber now is outside of the closet. That closet (30x36 or something like that) is so bright now that it is ridiculous. I think I'm going to raise it a little more. It's so bright I can barely see after walking out of the room for a minute or two. Gonna start wearing sunglasses while gardening soon.
yeah man , just remember the number one rule. Im lookin out for you just went through this myself. My friend of 9 years that i had known since I was 10 decided my plants were worth more than being friends to him. So even if you think your friends would never screw you over always be aware because they could be plotting on you behind ur back. I had people tell me the same thing and shrugged it off. I thought, we have been friends for 10 years he wouldn't ever do anything like that... but i was wrong. He let it slip to the wrong person and i got robbed....

I'm excited to see how combining the two spectrums goes.
Weed is weed, if I lose it, big deal, life goes on. If someone gets me put in jail, that's an entirely different story. I love weed so I obviously don't want it getting jacked, but if it does.... I dunno... that's a pretty morally bankrupt thing to do, especially to a friend who trusts you. I'd be hurt, but it's just weed. I'd feel more sorry for someone jacking me than upset about my crop. Besides, if anyone jacks me, I'll find a way to deal with it.
My only concern is legal, really. I like weed but I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch about some plants. I'd be more pissed if someone stole all of my equipment. If I ever thought that was likely two things would happen: 1) I would stop growing right away since fuck that risk if theres untrustworthy people knowing about my grow and 2) buy either an AR-15 or a FAL, but not until everything else illegal is gone. Probably get one of those piston-powered uppers (I think HK makes em) since those make ARs about 300x more reliable.
But enough about guns, I'm not mixing felonies with firearms since you get into seriously crappy sentencing guidelines and weed isn't worth going to prison over. Jail is one thing, but fuck prison.

I fondle them, impregnate them, you name it man. Actually it's like having a mentally handicapped girlfriend since I gotta do everything lol.

This is a medical crop going to patients and with the exception of one other friend who is a grower also, no one at all knows about it. I figure if I only let one or two people know about it, if something goes wrong, it will be easy to figure out where it went wrong. Other than having about 700 bucks of equipment into this grow now

That comes out to around 800 plus I'm sure I'm forgetting other stuff (rooting solution, tons of duct tape, string, rope, etc.). Basically instead of smoking as much weed, I smoke half as much and just buy something new every couple of weeks. Saving for CO2 is going to be a bitch, but man it is going to be worth it.

The insanely fast growing g-13 just showed pistils finally! I am going to take some clones and next run is going to involve them for sure. Going to keep a mother, I am seriously impressed by the vigour of this plant, the smoke the seeds were from was incredibly dank also. As in 9.5/10 on a dankness scale.

Anyways, update time. Took some more pics, redid some stuff in the garden, spilled a whole bunch of plant food/water all over my carpet, spent 15 minutes cleaning it up, going to use some cat-piss smell remover on it in a bit.
That G-13 plant I was almost positive it was going to be a male just because it has grown too fast to be true. If it's too good to be true, it probably is.... Well I guess it isn't, in this case. Here are some pics of it:
It's roots (2 weeks of growth, was a 4 inch seedling when I put it in 2 weeks ago that had just been topped)
Tied down the two main branches.
Entire area + a pic with tape measure for scale.
Here's the hood, thought people might be curious. It's ghetto rigged and that's my 400w CMH on the left and the 600w HPS on the right in a Sun System hood, I think. Now has a 4" 200cfm fan sucking exhaust out. Oh, and that's a window I grabbed from work (remodeling) that was going to be thrown out so I tied it on, works better than nothing.
Veg cab: 3 23w CFLs, turned 2 off so I could take the picture. That's about a dozen clones of mostly the unknown clove-smelling bagseed. I'm going to grab a cutting off of the plant that I grew out into a T shape since it has been very hardy, taken whatever nutes I've thrown at it without problems and is generally an all around tank. There's also a single clone inside of a 1.5 inch pot just for the hell of growing a mini plant
in the big pot are actually three clones that I'm braiding together.
Things are pretty stable, though 1k is flat out too much for a 30"x36" area. Closet/room are getting hot, but then, we're in the midst of a crappy heat wave right now which isn't helping. Come winter, mmmmm, it is going to be nice in that closet. Oh and ph has been fucky, up around 7.0-7.3 in the soil, I need to take the time to get that down to where it should be. my tap water is apparently almost ph 8.0, so that doesn't help.
Later everyone, I'm taking a break from weed this week so smoke extra for me!

By the way...A piece of "heat absorbing glass" would work much better at absorbing heat than a piece of "window glass"....unless the window glass is heat absorbing. Your reflector looks like it has a slot for glass.

I found this explanation on the net. Blue emphasis is mine.
Heat absorbing glass is used to reduce the amount of heat transmitted through an optical system. Heat absorbing glass effectively absorbs wavelengths beyond the visible spectrum. Unlike a hot mirror, which reflects the infrared wavelengths, the heat absorbing glass absorbs the infrared radiation and then dissipates the heat into the air around the glass.[At which point your blower carries the heat away. It never reaches your plant.] Heat absorbing glass can also be utilized as a shortpass filter, in order to pass the visible and block the IR. We recommend using a cooling fan with any of our heat absorbing products to reduce stress associated with excessive heat.
This is why "heat absorbing glass" comes with some reflectors.

Your reflector looks like it has a "slot" for installing a glass plate. The heat absorbing glass was optional with my reflector...only $20.00 I think. It makes a difference....anyone telling you different is a moron.
I can put my hand 6-7 inches from the the glass on my light and keep it there as long as I want.

Yeah I believe you, that sounds pretty worth it. I got my reflector used and at the time was not planning on having more than 400w in it. And with 400w I didn't even need to vent to cool it. CMH is very cool running. But this 600w HPS adds a lot of heat so I'll stop by the hydro store and pick up some heat absorbing glass.
