One thing to put out there- Once a home becomes a crime scene, no warrant is needed to enter. If a neighbor reports a broken window or any type of evidence of forced entry, or calls in a suspicious person on the property and the cops find a banged up latch, you're fooked. The biggest bust in my county in YEARS happened because a neighbor called in a crime in progress at the address.
FYI.

They would still need to come back with a warrant. but yeah you are rolled in that situation.

True, they would have to get a warrant for a thorough search, but they'd be able to enter without it, and anything they saw in the check to determine whether a crime was in progress/had been committed could be used as probable cause for a warrant.

If it's not one thing, it's another.

the fact is people (burglurs) hit houses regardless....maybe its someone who you told...but most likely its just a burglury...best to have security system of some kind...if you can afford

but the rule about not telling anyone....should still remain...numero uno

i DOUBT it,,, seems very unlikely for thiefs to rip off plants unless it was the motivation for the B+E>>>

most random burglars are looking for expensive small shit (i.e. laptops,,PS3,, ampifiers, bluerays, money,, etc...) most burglars are dumbfuck losers who dont know shit about growing weed,,, and even though this might be the case>>>very unlikely IMO.

what YOU need to do,, is think ::: WHO DID YOU TELL YOU WAS GOING TO DISNEY LAND????

my guess is that you told someone you was taking your family to disneyland,,, a person WHO KNOWS about your grow,,, and they figured it would be easy pickings...

id also move to a new house,, and make sure to keep your lips sealed. otherwise next time it might be a armed robbery with your family inside.

BE SAFE BROTHA. dont endanger your family over some fuckn weed. -BhT

^^BHT took the words right out my 'mouth'.... Think about who knew exactly when you were going to Disney?

If they didnt take anything else then they definately already knew what was up.... Any sign of them having gone LOOKING for the grow? (ie open doors, closet doors left ajar etc) If not then they knew exactly where the grow was....

Do you see any footprints all around the outside of the house or evidence that the person was walking around outside testing windows and locks trying to find a way in? If they just went straight for your kids room, then you can cut the list of suspects down to people who know about the grow AND are very familiar with the house and its lay out....

So cross reference people who know you grow.... people who knew you were going away... People who knew there was no security system.... And people who know your house, especially your sons room....

Unfortunately it sounds to me like it was someone who is close to you and your family not some random theif....

I for one dont think theres a need to pack up and move.... just be extremely cautious of the company u keep....

I wish you the best brother.... And for "Smellmyfinger" Jr, Im sorry bout your xbox buddy... Maybe it was time for a PS3 anyways?!??

Bless

That totally sucks dude, I have a similar story. One of my relative was robbed while attending my sister's wedding, whoever did it knew she was going to be away that night and it hurts knowing it's probably someone we know.

Sucks :(

Sucks :(

Sorry to hear about this, it really sucks. :badday: Hope everything works out and I hope that mother fucker gets what he deserves. I find these types of crimes to be especially selfish, cowardly and disgraceful. I always have the fear of a robbery in the back of my mind if I'm ever away from home. Their best bet is not to do it while I'm here or they're going to get a kamikaze machete-wielding attack from hell. I don't have any dogs but I do have a cat that would probably annoy the shit out of anyone. Other than that, I'm basically defenseless.

Thats all i would take if i was a thief. Why waste time going through drawers if you got video games and pot?

This is probably the most accurate statement on the internet.
