Yeah def N or P, if not a bit of both. I fed them close to full strength today and they got a half strength or so feeding the other day, so I'll keep and eye on them and hopefully they'll bounce back.

A little tip. Usually at the stage its over watering or needs more root space. Also its very possible for a plant to stay completely green using nothing but plain soil (Its just not as fun) :joint: My point is don't start feeding so early or you can cause more problems.

Almost forgot that one plant looks like it has nute lockup make sure the ph is on track. I always use a little dolomite lime in the mix and that seems to help.

Cool, I was wondering that myself a few days ago. My mix is mostly peat and I think it may be a bit on the older side so more acidic. So I was thinking before I had any problems that I should have got some dolomite lime and added it at first.

Anyway, from my understanding most people talk about applying lime to the raw soil, is there anything cheap I can grab to raise the pH besides one of those bottles of the stuff - sometimes it's hard finding decent supplies around here. I'm going to pick up a bag of dolomite lime to use in future mixes, but I need some ideas on an immediate fix.

Also, I have just noticed that 3 of them are indeed males. Hopefully one of the remaining two will turn out to be female to keep my busy while I order and wait for my pack of CH9' Hashplant :rasta:

And thanks a lot of the tips and kind words fellas, the excitement of being able to share my small grow with all of you makes the waiting process more of a fun part and less like waiting, thanks again guys.

Well I went and picked up some garden lime, it's literally the only kind of lime I can find, it says derived from dolomite on the back, and from what I've read it's similar just with less magnesium. I also grabbed a single soil pH test, the color is in between the color given for 6 and 7, so I'd say around 6.4-6.8. The bad news is, when picking up one of the males left to test his soil, I noticed the soil smells quite bad. I think over the last two nights when I was trying to add enough water to the perlite below to keep it from drying out, I was adding way too much and soaked the soil from below. Today I really noticed how damp it was on top, I think they've got root rot, just about to set in. Definitely smells like a bad casing of mushrooms in the past.

I guess I'll probably start again with some new bag seed I have sitting around, just a few more plants to play around with before I order some feminized seeds I don't want to waste. I'm going to pick up a bag of worm castings like I wanted, mix up my soil with some proper amendments from the beginning. I've read that people like to start by mixing the soil and letting it sit for a week or two to let the good bacteria develop, I'll use that time to start some seeds and get 'em ready.

Now I have a better understanding of what I would like my soil to contain, after a quite a lot of reading the past few days. I'm still not sure what people like they're promix based soil(less) pH to be, there seems to be a lot of debate on the subject of pH in general, let alone whether or not to consider promix soil or soilless for the sake of establishing a pH to use. That might not have even been the problem anyway, I suppose maybe they've always had cold damp roots at the bottom and I haven't noticed, giving the appearance of a nute def or lock out.

Whats up bro, I would feed them 3 droppers full of the SHultz 10-15-10 in a gallon with 1 drop of Superthrive and then in a week give them the full 4 Droppers of Shultz and 4 drops of Superthrive.... they should be fine with that

good luck you're off to a good start

Day 21 of 12/12 for the remaining girl... As I'm sure you guy's know by now upload isn't working so I'm not sure when I'll get a picture up.

Anyway, I had 5 the other day, and after figuring they were bad and going to die in a day or two from root rot, surprisingly they were all fine. The soil just stank something fucking fierce when I took a pH sample. Since they looked like they were suffering nute def but the soil was already soaked I was going to let them die while I germinated some more seeds. Needless to say I kept one in the box and forgot about a few others and left them out exposed in my room. Well, the one in the box turned out to be a girl. She was definitely neglected for almost a week, but I started to take care of her again and I think she'll recover just fine.

I mixed up a big batch of soil to get it composting while I germinated some seeds, I waited till last night to sow them though, 13 in total. 12 into rapid rooter thing with dome and one into a test cup of my soil mix. It contains Promix (60%), Perlite (15%), Vermiculate (10%), Earth worm castings (15%), I also added a little Garden lime (couldn't find regular dolomite anywhere). I ran out of perlite while I was doing that so I think I'll add a little more today along with a little of this 9-4-4 "all purpose" organic mix of fish emulsions, bone and blood meal. I just hope it doesn't stink too much :dueling:

I was finally able to get some pictures uploaded. The girl is on day 24 of 12/12, and I have 13 beans that just germ'd. I accidentally sowed 2 seeds into the same seed starter thing, now I know what happened to that mysterious 14th seed, lol. The girl is looking alright for being neglected and is starting to perk up.

The lil guy's I'll be transplanting into some cut down 20oz bottles and 18oz party cups maybe tomorrow but probably Thursday my day off.

You can barely see them in this photo but last night a few sprouted, and today all the rest including a surprise double one, most already have their first true leaves. These are coming along much nicer than the original 11 I planted including the girl for shits and giggles. By now they would have been like 4-5 inches tall and super strechy, now they're much smaller and more consistent. Guess having the box setup before you plant them works better than planting them as incentive to setup the box ;) Again just using some bag seed, the same bag seed as the originals, just random generic mids.

Here she is at day 29 or 12/12, just got her first dose of superthrive also this morning. I used more than the Doc does normally for this first dose, on the back it said 1ml per gallon to resist stress, in retrospect this may have been more than I needed, but oh well. I'll just be using a drop per gallon from now on with my normal nutes (just the Docs formula but I use Alaska brand all purpose organic fertilizer 9-4-4, made from fish emulsions, bone and blood meal instead of fish emulsions, reason being I got this thing of all purpose stuff super cheap in comparison to the thing of 5-1-1 fish emulsions).

She's definitely been getting more resinous over the past couple of days (I just noticed the first sparkles maybe 2-3 days ago), also been getting quite a bit fatter too.

Oh yeah, I forgot. The 13 beans that I had planted got destroyed, I made the mistake of leaving them unattended for a little too long I guess with 2 cats around, lol. I walk away to grab the soil and pop bottles and they're all just stems mostly. 13 was way too many anyway, now I got another 5 going, which 3 had just broken soil when I was checking the girl a few minutes ago. I think that's just about 72 hours ago I planted them :rasta:

Haha an update?

Haha an update?

Ok, I figured it was time to update my thread, I've only been posting my casual updates in the Midwest growers thread, so here goes. It looks like my last update was at day 29, well I'm here on day 49 now, getting close to harvest (I hope!). The past week I've just been feeding with Schultz 10-15-10 (about a dropper and a half per 2 quarts of h2o), and I think tomorrow (when she'll need water again) she's just getting water from here out.

She's been packing on weight massively in the past week or two, I keep seeing fresh new pistils where I'm expecting to see old dried ones! She also just got tall enough to touch the light so she really needs to finish up lol.

The trichomes I can see clearly in my scope are all getting mostly cloudy, I would expect to see some amber ones before too long. It's amazing how much change you can see in a day or two, couple of days ago and the trichomes I could see - all clear, basically resting on the calyx, today pretty cloudy and way off the calyx high on the stalk.
