mr. haze a bike is a good choice for people who can get high and ride a bike in amsterdam.....not everyone can handle being high and ride there...because there is so many other people riding bikes, motor scooters, people walking around and cars everywhere

you probably got used to riding a bike since you live there...when i retire in holland i will also ride a bike everywhere....so tired of having to drive all the time behind a wheel

*organized chaos*.....that is a very good description of it mr.haze.....when i was in holland in 2007 I almost got run over a few time by bikes and scooters

but this year in may.....I was more actively watching out for traffic...and it was more or less ok

holland is definately my favorite place in the world....i fell in love with it last year in the summer during my first ever vacation there....i drove there in my own car and it was so awesome chilling in haarlem....and just taking the train to amsterdam and the many small cities near the beach

Hey guys, i'm not really a regular poster, but i've been registered for a while and lurking for even longer and just saw this thread after not logging in for a while, at least not since i got back from Amsterdam!

I only spent a few days there this July, but I had a great time. As was stated, get good shoes, I walked everywhere and had very sore feet after just a day or so.

Biking might be easier on the feet but it looked pretty dangerous to me, there are just so many bikes and scooters and if you don't know your way around i think it may not be such a good idea, especially if you are smoking good herb, which you should be!

The Grey Area is pretty cool. It's pretty small, a hole in the wall sort of joint, but the guy working there is very nice, and i sampled some of the Hawaiian Sativa and got really fucking high, so yeah, good deal there! ;)

I hung out at the Green House too, which was pretty chill, the herb i got wasn't great but i didn't get anything expensive, some power plant which i think was kind of cheap, but the girls working there were very sweet. Come to think of it, the herb was ok, but the sativa from grey area was far better.

Anyday was nice too, they have lots of vaporizers for you to use and the guys working there are pretty funny and weigh out a proper gram of hash.

rent a bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and avoid the sore feet

That would have been a great idea, but I was too paranoid the whole time I was there (I have social anxiety like a mo-fo) to rent a bike because I didn't want it to get stolen and charged a shitload for a junk bike. So I thought, trams... Then the whole social anxiety thing and being in a tight spot with a bunch of people if I didn't have to be kinda had me freaking even more. Long story short, I had two giant blisters that I walked around on all week. But I was high and happy to just be there, so it was all good. Next time, hopefully, I'll have some company along and then maybe I'll try the trams. Strength in numbers you know...

I just got back from a week in Canada with my brother and his girl, both of whom live in Amsterdam. She was born and raised there. She is also an attorney and keeps me posted about the weed laws etc.
Anyway, they both bike everywhere. No need for a car she says and if they need one they just rent it..gotta love it..

remember that holland is more than amsterdam. 45 min by train is the haag and its a lovely turist free place with great coffeshops and the canna embassy(green ambassador). they also have a nice beach. also consider visiting copenhagen while you are in holland, its a 1 hour flight from amsterdam and we also love to bicycle, hehe and christiania is still a nice place to visit

If you go to Haarlem, check out Sauna Van Egmond... Not weed friendly, but probably one of the sickest places to relax in all of North Holland. Saunas, Steam Baths, Pools, Hotubs, massages, etc... I took the wife there a couple weeks ago. We were blown away. Have to be comfortable being naked around others though. Not many americans there... its quite European.

On the coffeshop note....

Tweede/Dampkring had the best bubble but way way over priced
Barneys and Grey Area had the best atmosphere and staff
Greenhouse had the best herb selection and.... Most herb i smoked was not flushed at all, even the bio stuff didnt pop in the flavor dept. I stuck to the hash cause the green was disssapointing compared to what we get here NorthEast USA.

We had fun loading the 6ft volcano bags @ Barneys w/ Amnesia Haze

Will,
The Greenhouse United is large and very up to date...As long as you buy a drink and are friendly you will never be asked to leave a quality shop...And no you do not have to buy herb to smoke in shops...You are a OK bringing in your own stash, just be polite and buy a drink at least...The food at the GHU is also very good so you cannot go wrong..Theres a main floor a downstairs and an upstairs...All unique and different from the other...Great staff as well..Jeffrey budtender is a great person to chat with and super friendly..

Most of the Cshops are nice but many are supersmall and not a place for chilling...The grey Area has probably the best selection of buds but is a hole in the wall that seats about 8 people...LOL....First class owners and employees during my stay..
Barneys is nice but way way overpriced!!Some of the best Hash you will find over the counter but very expensive(Caremella-15 euros a gram...)

There are locals that have very high quality hash...Have to meet some during your stay...The hash in the shops is hit and miss and you need to really look well before buying....If and when you find a high quality piece in ashop you just have to pay the price for it...But under the microscope they are as pure as the driven snow!!!!Trichs, trichs, trichs!!!!

Thanks capt :D

There're nothing better than recent reports from fellow travellers. Grey Area seems to be one of the most well known cshops which has consistent quality. Its a pity abouth the lace of space though...i guess getting there early will be a priority lol

I'll be spending a few weeks in the dam just to chill out, starting at the 21st cc...planning to taste all the quality buds and hash

Dont get there too early, will. GA doesnt open til 12 noon and there is usually a queue at the door prior to its opening. But it is definitely worth the wait. Good consistent quality gear here. Peace.

hjell yeah thats the info i wanted.. cause now i know the winners i can make my picks around that !! thanks ... K+ from me. lol.
