lol I like the picture of the real pot factory, it's nice of them to make sure we don't get confused like the cops did.

glow in the dark eh.. so they use these helicopters at night ... it can't sense it during the day can it?

and i thought they had to have a warrant to use that.

It looks like they were just using it for the hell of it and spooted this suspicious house that was 'glowing'.. so they immediately send some cops there and they were gonna bust down the door if she hadn't been home? what the hell is that all about.. maybe the laws in UK are different?

Will have to ask the UK guys/gals about needing a warrant. US have somewhat different laws not that that stops LEO form barging in and making up a story to cover their ass later.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in the US they need a warrant to do a fly-over IR don't they?

Yes, I believe you are correct but there are caveats to the rule but no specific house scans allowed but something about if it is not your house specifically they can do a broad scan. I cannot remember but it is on the tip of my tongue.

"The drug needs 8 hours of daylight and 15c temperatures to grow"

I wonder what super strains these guys are growing?

Now excuse me while I go and check on my drug garden. :joint:

Hi

Im Uk based and i believe they need a warrant to use thermal imaging here!!

Its a bit of a wierd story, because, ive never really heard of a UK bust that was SOLELY because of a fly over. They just dont seem to do it here much. Most busts are from smell or electricity bypasses.

To be honest it looks like a publicity stunt for the Police to warn growers of how SOPHISTICTED they are and that they can find growers purely off THERMAL imaging.

Perhaps they do the fly overs and then identify houses that are suspect for future surveillance, but, dont ever use the thermal fly over photos in court because they know this is an invasion of privacy and ILLEGAL

I was just about to say that Norcal!
Here in the states, this year as a matter of fact, a black chopper flew by and around for for an hour and 8-9 passes... I had nothing indoors, so I stood outside and flipped the bird lol.
As far as I have understood, they can fly by at anytime, anywhere... All they have to do is look at the wrong house, misinterpret the heat signature and bust down your door.
What a world we live in...
