Here's mine. I had three healthy clones and I snapped one in half trying to transplant.

Hi friends,

I want to clear something up: I don't have algae on my roots.

I did have a little bit on an earlier picture, in another thread, but that seems to have gone away. I'll post pics later tonight after my lights come on to show you what I mean. The color my roots is brown, not green, and as sirsmokesalot so courteously reminded me, "algae is green, and it grows."

Hi Bounty29. So far I've bogged all my clones into larger containers but I haven't transplanted any. I think if the plant has a solid enough root ball, transplanting should be similar to soil. Any other hempy growers have advice for bounty?

Just a quick pic update on my coco hempy grow!

I've decided to try CNS-17 grow formula (that stuff is cheap!) and am gonna go get some tomorrow. Anyone have experience with it on coco?

It is great drain to waste. I had 0 cal/mag problems regardless of whether I used it with shitty salty coco. I love it!

when you are using your coco on top of perlite, how often did you hafta water your seedlings?
after reading this thread, i decided to copy your buckets for my first hempy attempt. So far (which is about 4 days) im pretty impressed!

Hempy buckets are nice low maintenence passive hydro I've run a couple and they are really easy I didn't check ph after the first time mixing and never had any problems.

hey mole, nice thread! your hempys are cool. What are your yeild differences between 2L bottles and 1G jugs? Is it significant?

IThe gallon jugs yielded better. I would advise you to experiment with both in your space. since the containers are basically free, why not? :rasta:

The key to seedlings in coco is infrequent small waterings to keep the soil on the dry side. The idea is to encourage the seedling to send out roots and develop a root system. After that gets established, water as needed.

Very interesting. I used straight coco in my last grow, then experimented with DWC towards the end. While getting my new grow in order, I realized I'm going to need an easier way than moving around 5 gallon buckets of water.

This looks like it would fit the bill quite well. Maybe even use my pump and timer to setup to automatically water, once I've done the calculations on how much would be needed over what period of time.

Since I use FNB straight through, it's possible I could get things down once every two weeks or longer. plus, I've already got the coco and perlite :D

Hey nite tiger - That sounds like a good setup.

I'd say if you have a pump, containers, and media, you should just do regular drain to waste in pots of coco or coco and perlite mixed. That would be just as simple to set up and it doesn't really have any negatives to it. I think hempy's probably work best watered by hand, when the grower thinks it needs it. Automated drain to waste coco with a pump you can just set it and forget it, after you get the watering frequency/length figured out.

Except I have no place to drain to waste :D

Besides, I said 'maybe' on the timer and pump. That's something I would think about once I have them up and running, once I learn the timing they'd need.

Hand watering is still less intensive than dealing with multiple 5 gal buckets

talking hempy could i use 12 inch hydroponic halo to water my 5 gallon bucket instead of pearlite at the bottom of the coco i use the small rockwool cubes instead

your bottles are seethru that means your root growth will be minimal,
u black them out with card or somthign adn them pots wont even show you any pearlite you wil see mass root instead
