YUKONS "GUMBY HASH"

Why haven't you tried it yourself? Just outa curiosity..

Also, I'm a little confused as to how you actually ended up fully drying it. So you:

-Syphoned off the majority of the water layer
-Poured it into a smaller jar/s
-Syphoned off the remaining water again
-Poured it through a coffee filter
-Let it sit on newspaper (still in the coffee filter?)
-Scraped it onto cardboard
-Air dry till completely dried

Did I miss anything? About how long did the drying process take overall?
Thanks for the documented test run YUKON, at least now I have something to go by if i ever want to try this. :smoke:

If you were going to do it again Yukon, I'd do a 5 minute "Quick Wash" then do a 2nd longer stirring to get the remainder of the material. You'd have a much higher quality initial product I would bet. Kudos tho for putting your time and arm to use for our benefit

For sure it works, it was the foundation of the water extraction kits that are available on todays market.

Here is the ad for sadhu sam's water extraction. this was in a 1987 issue of High Times.

I will find and post the instruction that were sent when you ordered from this ad...

I've never really more than had a few glances at High Times over the years.but back before the internet, HT and a few grow books were all there was.....

there were lots of variations and improvements on the Sadu Sam method posted on Overgrow, some using kitchen strainers etc

btw does anyone know how long did this advert run for?

and isn't it amazing that Sam Skunkman used a USA address to send the cash to....how times have changed in just 21 years...if you tried something like that now, you'd be hunted down and put in jail quick smart...&/or the recipe would be posted online in a matter of weeks taking away lots of your potential profits.

I bet Sam made a shitload of tax free cash from this....but it sort of pays back for all the Skunk, Haze and other strains he first developed that were copied by others that he didn't get any money for I guess.

he was not only a pioneer of modern cannabis breeding, he was a crafty capitalist too.

yes, please post the Sadu Sam "recipe" BM..I've never seen it before.

my two cents.....

i don't think there is a recipe as such, nor do i think that the big BM is trying to say there is one. he is just asking that the chripas that lead all those folks to everest get a little pat on the proverbial back as opposed to assuming u blazed to the summit without any help from the folks before you.

or maybe BM knows the secret recipe, but i think understanding that glands sink and leaf floats is enough. anything beyond that is technique and procedure imo. baking the julienned pieces of potato as opposed to frying them. they still french fries and its still the sadu's discovery or application of principle.

verbage.

pEACe

lol

edit: sam thanks neville in "hashish" by clarke.

so maybe he is who we should be thanking for the craze?? :muahaha: hmmm? also, mr clarke reprints the recipe or procedure if u will. i don't have acces to a scanner but i'm sure u's guys are resourceful.

I duno bro I usually just take all my trim, throw it in a brown bag and when its dry it goes straight into the kif box. Makes great bubble and I don't have much trim. Later I will try this method. PEACE

Interesting...wonder if there's any simple modifications that could be made to achieve more pure product. Always love simple methods that don't involve much more than common sense.

the indians have been using water separation for 1000's of years. pleaaaaase share this info as i have never seen it. :muahaha:

My point was that there was no discussion about which name was better but which one is appropriate. and u said u liked gumby better giving me the impression that u didn't think homage should be payed.

ex of homage u pay, deciBELS, FORD motor company, DARWINism, all the doctors tthat have treated took the HIPPOCRATic oath. SO do u disagree with all of them or just this one cuz gumby sounds cooler?

PEACE

what was said was someone asking how it got renamed and then there was my comment replying to that MR. thanks :)

so u don't see any bit of sarcasm in the bubbleman's statement?

WOW. okay i'm gonna slowly back away. sorry to have bothered you.

You are right that Neville showed me this the first time but an un-named USA grower showed it to Neville a week before Neville showed me and Rob Clarke.

I never said I made it up, I said I was the first to get the info out and popularize water hash making.

Chamba,
In the USA selling info was never a crime, that is why Cannabis growing books can be sold. Anyway I did not make much money selling the info for $10 a pop, regardless of what you think. Few people seemed interested. And in the USA using bud to make resin was almost unknown except for finger hash.
The recipe is in Rob Clarke's book Hashish, buy it and you would learn a lot.

2nd for the book hashish, that is where i would pull the original sadu sam's recipe that is being referenced.

to bubbleman - this renaming occured when someone started calling it the Gumby method on youtube.

I have tried this method and had great success with it. Actually the hash was better doing this method then the filter bags I tried next. My only problem is that my hash gets crumbley and won't gum up in to a ball or won't press. I'm assuming its not dry enough .
