Cherry Bomb

Mod If you get a chance ask him what the cherry bomb he sold under prairie fire was. Perhaps this was made with the clone also. I'm sure it wasn't anywhere near as well bred as his cb II. It would only produce cherry scented plants in f2 form which were total indica and smelled of a cherry scented hard candy.I still have a bunch of f1's and f2's because I knew he had the kentucky cherry bomb because he sold f2's on cbay which is where he bought the f1's from greengenes so I bought a bunch of them thinking that's what this was. But it definitely wanted. I'm thoroughly confused about how this fits together.

hey zam im pretty sure that the cb your talking about that reef had with parier or whatever doesnt have mr.g's genes in it because his interaction with mr.g and the cb II were way into his establishment of reefermanseeds

mrGs cherrybomb comes outta what was called maui wowie, dont know where ya guys are gettin the kentucky thing from., Reef did not buy mrgs gear, it was gifted tohim by Mrg, as well as a few others. plants i grew were long aiiry buds, except one plant which was a cherry phat budded plant. still airy bud but mucho more of it.

reef got mrGs CB long after he was PB on cbay.

GBS, you could be right, probably are.

My understanding after looking around a bunch was that there are three Cherry Bombs:

The "original" Southern Cali, clone-only, indica-dominant Cherry Bomb.

Then Mr.Greengenes came across a cherry-flavored pheno in his Maui Wowie stock and stabliized it, calling it Cherry Bomb. Of course, this one is sativa-dominant, huge yielder.

Then Reeferman crossed the clone-only Cali CB with Mr.G's sativa-dom CB and called the hybrid Cherry Bomb II.

But I'm wondering if that's all accurate.

Regardless, those are beautiful buds and the smoke report was excellent.
That would be 4 cb's becuzz if i remember rite i think almighty seeds made a cherry bomb ,i think it was a lionheart x sage or sumthin like that

This is a mighty old thread, but has some 'lore' about CB. I thought I'd revive it and correct a couple mistakes in case anyone is interested.

I never sold CB seeds online, but I did gift Reeferman a sack because I thought at the time it would be the best way to distribute this valuable strain.

I do think it's very possible (but it's just a guess) that CB came to Hawaii by way of Thailand, because it resembles the 'chocolate thai' we used to get in the late 70's in NYC.

The observation that my CB sometimes has undertones of Tobacco is quite true, many people have noted that. To me, since I don't smoke tobacco, it's more that the taste smells like unburned tobacco than like burning, if that makes any sense.

I'm not sure where Zamalito heard the Kentucky connection. I did actually have a cool strain from there years ago, only it was called 'Jim Smith'. Maybe the lore got mixed up?

My Cherry Bomb is highly inbred. I didn't keep records back in the day, but it's at least F15 now, maybe closer to F20-22. It should be very easy to sort CB traits from subsequent crosses, so breeders can use CB males to go into unknown clones without progeny testing.
