Thanks everyone.

kalle: Of course, I love the land I was born in...atm its OK living here, as long as I can visit Oz every year or two. otherwise I start to forget English. ;)

blackone: Yes, I like how Satori is coming along, healthy so far. Fingers crossed. I could tell you my latitude, but I'd have to kill you. :D Japan is a long, thin island and you can narrow down someones location pretty well if u know their latitude.

cd: Peace to you and your girls too.

Prof.: You can't wait to see big buds growing? lol...I can't wait! :D I pulled a plant yesterday that turned out to be a SW when I looked at what I had written on the pot. It was a male and smelt very sweet-perfumey, was getting sticky already.
The female is going OK, no pics of her this time...will check how yours are doing.

Another Satori, 2nd tier from the bottom.

And another, this is the other one on the lowest tier. Theres two spiders that have made webs, they're helping keep bugs away. Spiders and Praying Mantises, pretty much the only bugs I want to see on my plants.

Edit: The Capsule Samurai love that shit.

ps. I don't know if any of you skate, my skating ended when I face planted, knocked myself out and broke my nose a long time ago, but I found this clip of Richie Jackson, Psychedelic skater.
If you've ever skated or even watched a skate vid before, check this out. He uses his psychedelic life philosophy in his skating, much more interesting than the usual. And, hes Australian, which makes me like him even more.

Doesn't look like your typical skater...

Varial kickflip hippie jump? Double foot-plant down a stair well? Kickflip foot-plant to finger-flip? For those of you who don't know, that's just insane.

Edit: While I think of it:
next year increase size of holes, add some more amendments, and most importantly get the chainsaw out to open the canopy a lot more for the upper two tiers. And buy some more big containers for plants at the plot and for some males and females to isolate at different spots to make seed.

Thanks Scottie.
No pics, Mrs Saibai has the camera atm.
I just came back from a record 4 round trips to the plot. By the third, I could water my plants with the sweat running off of me. I just had to stand over them. :D

Back in the airconditioning now, had a shower and some water. Feels great. Thats enough about me, the plants:

Looking pretty good, its gotten used to being tied over. I'll keep an eye on the lower branches to see that theyre getting enough sun. I was looking at the little bud sites and found a seed! fully formed, the seed pod was open. I ate it. :D
I'm not too worried, I put the Zamal over the edge of the garden just in case there were a few 'nanas. I couldn't find any though, its probably from the male MaT that was next to it. (long gone now)
Smell keeps getting better, its turned a little sweeter/fruitier.
The other smaller Zamals are nothing special...nothing too much to report.

Lots of bud sites on this one. Looking forward to it. Low odour.

The Snow White is leading in trich production so far! This one has the musty-widow smell, a decent amount of bud sites developing.

The skunks are doing OK, I'm actually really happy to have these, I germed them from a 3-pack and got 2 females! The one in the ground was the sorriest little runt I have ever seen...all mutated and tiny...I got the seeds from this piece of Sensi merchandise:

I have a few Satoris, the one on the second tier from the top is by far the porest looking. Lack of light, I'm sure. The others, in the pots and on the bottom tier are strong, green girls. The Satoris are the slowest to flower though, by far. Low odour, one smells nice, pretty unique type of spice type smell.

I'm sure I have a MaT or two around...can't be bothered to check...oh, thats right, one in the pot with a Zamal...very green, one of the few plants unaffected by the undiluted neem oil.

Gave them all a big water, gave the Zamal, Snow White, one Satori and the Hashberry some dolomite. Sprayed them all with a light, fairly diluted neem mix.

Thanks Prof., I think the SW is going to be a pretty powerful smoke. :)

Heres an updated map of the plot, aerial view. You know the strains by now...poo brown means in the ground, blue is in a pot. Some unidentified ones, thats OK, Ill be able to tell them apart I hope...they're either SW or MaT...maybe a HB? Whatever, they'll probably be made into hash...as long as I harvest enough bud! :bashhead:

The dude doesn't sweat small stuff like that, why should I?

Nice plot you got there man, next year Im going to think more serious about outdoors growing. Any tips from your experince? Do you know anything about the SW's genetics I know it says its a White Widow hybrid. Says "The fat pure indica father gives Snow White a denser statue" I guess they just crossed it with a sk or nl...You know anything more? Im lookin very forward to your harvest and hash making. :joint:

Btw, check my diary to see a very mature male SW plant I grew out and killed. If you wanna check out how it looks, it smelled like fuel with earthy an hashy overtones.

till later :joint:

Prof.: Sure will check out the male. :D I haven't been able to find anything further than the description above, I interpret that to mean that a widow was crossed with an indica, as for what, I don't know.
But, it can be read to mean that it has the same Brazillian sativa mother as widow, but it has a different indica father...a "fat, pure indica" sounds like an Afghan to me...?
That would be cool...You could have the Widow, then the Widow/Afghan Rhino, then the sister of the widow snow white... It could get confusing.

There is a possibility that its an f2 of an old school plant that was in the Greenhouse catalog in the 80s...they had a strain called Snow White. I don't know the lineage, but:

Extract from interview with Arjan on the beginnings of GHS:
So we started the Green House Seed Company. A completely new and unique cultivation program. Our company became a slamming success. New varieties like White Shark, Snow White, White Rhino, Red Devil and Mary Crystal were introduced and took over the market. Our varieties were so popular they were being ripped off as fast as we could put them out.

Edit: Just quick-dried and sampled some prunings from the Zamal...most definitely is seeded! The seeds are pretty much fully developed, too! I haven't had this happen before, do you guys think I could just pull off all the seed pods on there now, and let it keep flowering? It should have a lot of flowering time left...I don't know whether its from the MaT, or selfed...but I think its from the MaT.

 Hi Sai! sorry I havent been around in a bit! Everybody is lookin real healthy! :joint:
I think it's a great idea to open up your canopy, but would the noise from a chainsaw bring any unwanted attention?
I know it would where I wanna do my spring seedin next year. Thanks for puttin that idea in my head though now I can look for natural openings or something...
peace!

Yeh I must say mine were light in the aroma department too, at least during the early stage of bloom, but then watch out!, they kind of make up for it in the later stages of growth, very pungent strong spicy but beautiful aroma, with all sorts of undertones,,,, will be exciting for you! :rasta:

Regarding the seeded Zamal, if it were mine I'd leave the seeds to mature, cause you can still make hash from the buds when she's finished, + you'll have some beans too. :2cents:

How far is the top tier from the 2nd, and that from the bottom, if you don't mind me asking?

Have a great weekend too

Green Genes, would you be refering to a Northern Japanese variety of monkey prized for its tough moral fiber and potent attacks on intruders ?

Great answer, I think you are right and its an afgan plant or something along those lines. Imma look up some more information on it if I can.

Stay eazy :joint: enjoy that sample

Hi guys, thanks to everyone for dropping in, I'm off to a reggae concert soon. :rasta:

kalle: I see you guys have similar magazines to the English, always covering the royal family. :)

cellar: nah, a chainsaw is fine...i used it this year and could have used it some more but was a bit lazy. I don"t have to worry about the noise.

smurf: Thanks for the tip on the Satoris, I'm really looking forward to them. As for the seeded Zamal, I was planning on making seeds with the pollen I collected from the MaT anyway, but not the whole plant! :) Just a branch. I was worried that it might have been from a freaky early herm 'nana, but I'm pretty sure thats not the case. I think its from the male that was next to it.
The tiers are not that far apart, each one is about 2m higher than the one below it and only a few metres in straight distance. Theres quite a few tall trees around and the angle the suns arcs across means that sometimes the plants are partially shaded.
It looks a lot different now in summer than it did in winter when I was checking it out.

As for the seeded Zamal, what do you guys think?
It would have gotten pollenated early, which would explain why it started flowering so early.
The seeds are pretty mature, some have even started falling out of the pod! They're nice and striped brown and shiny. Theres not too many on there though.

Because there's no pollen around anymore, do you think that if I pulled them off, it would keep flowering and produce mostly seedless buds? I'm not that worried about picking out seeds from buds though, I didn't want the whole thing pollenated...
I still have pollen in the freezer with which to pollenate a female or two to make seeds...

Back from the concert, I smoked some really tasty hash which made a nice choice from the usual prunings etc. that I've smoking.
Ended up taking the day off (don't tell my wife).
I think I might relax at home and watch some Monty Python. Beats working. :)

kalle: lol, I'l probably leave them then...the dad is the 100% indica Dreamgoddess, and the ZamalxSkunk is about 80% Sativa, so their kids should be pretty balanced? Now I just have to choose which other, if any, females I want to pollenate with the MaT pollen in the fridge. We know the MaT isn't shooting blanks at least. :chin:

There are a couple of Japanese strains that have been around for long enough to be considered landrace. I've only tried to grow a couple of beans once, quite a few years ago. I might have another shot at it sometime, maybe crossing with some more mainstream genetics? This pollen chucking/seed making is fun.
