Ooooooh the agony

Had three wisdom teeth pulled today. Worst part for me was having to swallow blood all day. Made me feel disgusting. They've got me all doped up on meds, which is making this so much easier to get through. I was awake for the whole thing though, the actual procedure wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It has definitely been everything afterwords that I haven't enjoyed.

Too afraid to try smoking though, scared that I might get dry socket! Would much rather prefer that to all the meds though. I've never been a big fan of pills, always throw me out of funk.

You could have someone roll a joint and blow you shotguns. But be careful not to cough hard as that could lead to dry socket. I never had it but I know 2 people that got it and one was a grown man and he was almost crying from the pain. It might be better to hold off a couple days or make something in food....

i didnt smoke for at least a week after my teeth were pulled..didnt even want too.way too much pain..plus your throats all sore and dry from constantly spitting blood and changing gauze.i had all 4 out at once.. talk about pain..if anything dude make an edible dont expose your self to smoke right now.let your mouth heal.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed at once and ended up with a dry socket...

Nothing nice about that at all....You don't want to experience that. They have to use medicated gauze and stuff it down into the socket. Food gets down in there and gives you rank breath....it's just a mess.

Just abstain from smoking for a while until you start to heal up...

I had all 4 removed and they were impacted, so pretty much the worst scenario possible. I smoked about 12 hour later, just taking REALLY small light hits.

i smoked the second i got home. far as i know, smoke doesn't cause dry sockets, drawing from the pipe does. that's why they say don't use straws. i just put gauze in the back of my mouth, packed the bowl real light, and puffed. rinse your mouth out afterwards. no dry socket here, but it probably did take a bit longer to heal.

the worse part was trying to eat the first week. also, ziplock bags with 50/50 alcohol/water feels great on your face. it won't freeze, so its 10x better than ice packs!

Yeah, I was only considering it because my procedure went so smoothly. I barely even swelled up any at all. They gave me perkasetts and I really can't stand the way they make me feel, especially after taking one before I went to bed last night. Woke up and felt so groggy, pretty much just horrible all around hehe. Thanks for all the suggestions though guys!

Im a little late but fyi you dont want to swallow too much of your own blood as you wont keep it down for long. Had internal bleeding before and wasnt able to keep it down for long and it didnt stop until the bleeding stopped.

Yeah that was definitely one part about it that I hated. Luckily, the bleeding stopped a few hours after the procedure. I ended up taking another perkasett last night and immediately regretted it, felt like I wanted to vomit. Most of the pain has subsided so I'll just stick to Motrin.

I must have lucked out. I was eating potato chips in 2-3 days. Save the percocets for when you have worse pains as they do the trick.
