O.K.; Exactly 1 week ago I took a bunch of new cuttings. They went right into the EZ cloner. Today I did a spot check and more than a few of them have nice enough legs to transplant. Just FYI. I know people have stated things previously about the addition of nutrients to the reservoir, and to watch the temperature. My personal opinion is that unless your reservoir is the temperature of the planet Venus.....or freezing cold...you're good. Mine is always a bit on the warm side. As far as nutrients go: I do in fact add a bit of nutrient (real, real, real weak)...but I only do that after the gals have developed legs and I'm keeping them in the unit longer (for whatever reason; ie-no room in veg. or flowering, want more legs to grow...time....etc.).
So it's turnkey. Just make sure you have a clean razorblade...and that you follow the instructions for cleaning the unit: I always keep bleach on hand.
It's also a GOOD idea to cut back on giving your moms nitrogen for about a week prior to taking cuttings. A high degree of nitrogen resident in the tissue will promote slow root development.

now these are not the cuttings i would have taken normally so keep that in mind when you see them
but it's really all i had to work with on these plants, they grew straight and tall to keep up with the corn
however i wanted to play with the EZ, and get used to it
LOL and get the wife used to listening to it as its got a temperary spot in the bathroom for now

I think the sound of the ez in the bathroom would help me pee better! Hey man you running it 24/7? Make sure you try to maintain the rez temp if you do. It will get real warm in there well at least mine does if i leave the pump running. When i take my cuts i leave it running that first day and then put it on a timer to turn on every hour for fifteen minutes. If you can get away with letting it keep running the whole time then by all means do it. Later Bro

bro i let mine run 24 hrs a day since i got it.i do change my water out about once a week i think thats mostly outta habbit though honestly.cause thats how i started usin it and ya know how it goes doin what works for ya and all that.i also keep my shoplight over it on 24 hrs too the whole time.i read that peeps have thiers on different light cycles but they talkin the same rooting time as me so why change up ya know.im sure youll get use to it i mean all ya gotta do is throw the cuts in there and walk away,come back in about ten days and transplant...bro its that easy.
i spray mine with a lil s.thrive the 1st week and a clone x mix the second week but thats mostly to stop them from gettin any yellow to them.they gonna root regardless if i spray or not.

another tip for ya,if you have some thicker woodier cuts after you 45 em score the stem with ur scissors you know peel off the outter layer,then get the clone x gel or whatever ur usin all in there and it helps the woodier cuts root faster.just thought about that and figured i'll et ya know.peace -Y-

i only put good ole h2o in my bubbler.
ferts arent needed imo.
but temp plays a key part.
my cloner is on the bottom floor of my veg room.
those new t5's give off a buttload of heat.
some days the veg room is close to 90 deg.
on those days i need to dump ice, or an ice pack , into the cloner to cool it.
i find they root faster w/ cooler water.
too warm and mushing out will kick in.
i lose a good amount of clones in the summer.
it is also good practice to clean the cloner at least once a month.
i have a flouro strip above mine and when water gets on the cover from pulling out cups, algae will form on top.
if this works its way onto the exposed stem above the neoprene tops, it seems to poison the cuts.
then they have a good chance of dying.
but i hate cleaning my cloner worse than anything.
as a matter of fact, that is todays job in the grow

got mine right under a window (covered its the bathroom) and at night i just leave the light on (CFL)
as i was putting it together i was thinking it could be a bitch to clean LOL, i'll stay on top of it from the getgo cause that always helps with everything no matter what it is

Is it when you are long-distance hiking, and someone suprises you with water, food, a bed, etc. Well on Sunday, I worked some real FUCKEM style trail magic. I was meeting some of my people that are hiking the AT this season. I had water, and food. But I had something special for my boy. Suprised him with a gift of a zip of Kona Mist. You should have seen how stoked he was. Should at least get him into Connecticut.
