The Largest Lowryder 2 You´ve Ever Seen!

Hi!

I wanted to post pics of my interesting Lowryder 2 Sativa girl. I have to say that these plants came from my own seedstock of (f2s?) that I made of Lowryder 2 about a year ago. Anyways, I guess this plant goes to show that there is still a alot of great genetics in this line apart from the dwarf stuff.

This plant here was totally sativa, sprouted outside at the End of February and grown until June 20th on a terrace in Central Spain. All of the other Spring Lowryder 2´s had finished by May 15th. Her pistils were pink/bright purple and as the pistils died the underside of the calyxes turned a dark purple, almost black. The plant was so amazing I first thought that maybe its mother had been hit with pollen by some other male outside, but it flowered in later september/earlier october, and all of the progeny autoflowered ( only 4 seeds actually made it to maturity)

I made about 50 seeds of this plant with her brother, and also crossed her brother to another batch of LowRyder2 seeds I made last year, a shorter faster flowering stocky plant that doesn´t even yield a 1/4 of what this plant did. Check back in the fall for a new experiment with this sativa pheno...

The high on this plant is just perfect, wonderful energetic sativa high that makes your eyes bleed and makes you smile like a dumbass for two hours until finally leaving you completely awake, relaxed and ready for more! The cured bud has an syrupy orange smell.

Anyways on to the pictures. The water bottle in the picture is a 1.5 liter bottle for size reference. The main cola of this plant was eventually longer than the distance from my elbow to my fingertips. On to the photos:

Only one reply!

I will post some more photos so you can see the evolution of the plants as a group and compare how different the plants really are. The stocky pheno and the giant pheno are from two completely different sets of parents, grown at two different times of year. The giant pheno came from a relatively short plant planted at end of august and harvested in the middle of october. While the stocky pheno came from plants harvested last july. Two plants, one a female and one a male were damaged trying to get out of the seed shell when sprouting and turned into runts, these were both from the seeds planted last july.

This was my first time testing the theory that planting the Lowryder 2 seeds in the final containers without ever transplanting leads to larger plants due to less stress. I have to admit that I think there is truth to this theory.

This is from April 3rd, the plants are roughly a month old:

This is from April 23rd, there are three females here. The giant pheno is on the right and the pot on the left has the stockier pheno with a runt inside the pot too (barely visible):

This is from around May 1st. You can tell what plant is what clearly:

This is a macro photo of the giant plant´s main bud taken on may 8th

Finally, this the last shot of the two plants together when the short, stocky plant was harvested on May 15th (en honor de san isidro).

Hi all!

Yes I will do a smoke report in a few weeks when it is cured more!

I think you are right Pseudo, I think that it could have gone a few weeks longer, but I went on vacation. Needless to say I was not expecting any plant to take so long. I have no doubt, that had I been able to leave it 2 weeks more, the coloring would have been way more pronounced. That aside I couldn´t be happier. The potency is miles above any other lowryder 2 I have ever grown. I can smoke it all day long starting with the morning cup of coffee, eat dinner, and take two hits of a bowl again, and the buzz is exactly the same, invigorating, creative, warm and happy as it was in the morning and still lasts for two hours. Hell i even enjoy the comedown, it just leaves you feeling calm, peaceful and relaxed.

To be honest, taste wise, it doesn´t seem too different from other lowryders, it has the same fruity taste, although maybe it leans more towards an acidic citrus taste and smell than fruity.

I think that there are alot of possibilities for this plant especially when you make seeds and grow it in an area where it can adapt to the climate and interesting things come up. I´ve never grown these plants inside before, so I can´t say much. I will plant about 15 or so plants soon to harvest in the Fall. It will be interesting to see what the offspring turn out like.

I'm loving that big stiva pheno Moco! It sounds as if the high is dramatically improved over the original lowryder I grew out a couple years back.

did you manage to pollinate either of the side branches so you can get more of those big ones?

very nice lowryder Moco! It's a strain I'm interested in for OD stealth in my yard.

Yes, I have about 50 seeds from a lower branch that I pollinated with a male from the same batch of seeds(her brother).

Plus, I also have another 50 seeds from a branch of the stocky pheno and the same male.

Looking at the buds on that big plant, I'd say you got a recessive Santa Marta pheno.

Hi Lougrew!

I wish I could clone it, but it is an auto flowering variety that is just way sativa. I have plenty of seeds to grow from it.

Hi BH!

I think the Sativa that Joint Doctor mixed in was Santa Maria, which I think is a sativa leaning sat/ind hybird from Brazil. I have seen some pictures of Santia Maria but it didn´t look so sativa as this plant. Strange recessive traits eh?

Thanks moco for all the info and pics thats pretty interesting!

always wondered why santa maria progeny looks so variable and nothing like the clone i had once which produced very dense buds? maybe just the wrong place at the wrong time or the cut has alotta recessive expressions?
no mercy is the place to go for santa maria but don´t grow their F3 if you go for this it has the least SM influence :spank:

Damn im an af grower and i must say that plant is beautiful. How much was the yeild dry? I grew a master low that yielded over forty grams dried.

Hi all!

Thanks for the comments!

I have no idea how much it yielded. I don´t own a scale and don´t plan on getting one anytime soon.

It filled about 4 three liter jars with cured bud.

I have the fall harvest already growing on the terrace. I will post pics of all of that stuff come September.
