Anyone else here have utterly and completely fucked up family situations (parents/siblings)?

Do you enjoy spending time with those family members, or is it a source of angst.

My parents caused me angst, but I enjoyed spending time with them. Ive got two older brothers I cant really stand. Im 40, and both are highly critical of my life and activities.....

my situation is fuc...ed up for sure

don't speak to my brother.....or its better to say he doesnt want to speak to me...he is around 30....and i'm 35

don't speak to my mother much either.....was a partner in a business with her and my stepfather.....in an eastern european country

they tried to take my share in the business using organized crime about ten years ago

at that time mafia was everywhere since the country just gained its independence from russia

my brother believed so BS from them two (mom and dad) and stopped talkin to me

tried for a while to get our relationship going (he is my brother) but he wouldnt have it

i think lots of folks have shitty relationship with family....most dont like to tell though

there is not sickness or dysfunction that hasent een bested by my family in some shape or form

the onyl one left that i communicate with is my brother, which in tenuous because he is anti-pot in such a way if he knew I would have to fear persecution

BUT

its because of his own drug addictions and the addicitons of our family memebers that is make him so bias and my feeling is that if it threatens his sobriety i dont want to push the issues, addicition can make even benign drugs a trigger for old urgers i guess

I have a brother like that also. If he knew I was involved with MJ I dont doubt he would call the cops on me.

Im currently living with and taking care of my mom, and have to deal with my brothers as a result. In a week though, she moves into assisted living, than a year after that Im probably selling her house and giving her the remaining equity. After that, aside from my mother, I am really quite done with dealing with my family.

Family, bah. Everything's fine and dandy when you've got lots o' money, but the minute your financial picture changes, so does their opinion of you. Basically the reality is we're all alone; family is interested in you insofar as you might be an asset to them going forward.

I'd never tell them about MJ or much of anything else in a million years. They wouldn't call the cops, but it wouldn't help me either. They would more than likely get all bent out of shape about the legality issue. Marijuana is not connected to money, just recreation.

Mother still lives in the world of 1950 when pot was considered a "harmful new drug". Brother used to smoke MJ, but now just drinks all the time, probably because its easier to get. Dad is crazy and never leaves his house.

5 gold stars out of 4 for you!

I must be the odd man out. I love my family. What's left of it anyway.

Yeah, I feel kind of like an asshole saying this in this thread, but I couldn't ask for a better family. My parents are the nicest most loving and supporting people...they just care so much for their kids. I've learned a ton from my dad and my mom is just all about being a good mom.

Did anyone see that thread that just got locked with the youtube video about some parents tricking their kid into thinking he got an xbox360 for christmas?
He opens up the box all excited then the parents start laughing at him when he finds only clothes inside. He just stares blankly at them and eventually begins to cry.
^WTF That's just fucked up
