I saw Eek-a-Mouse last year and he and his band completely sent me into space. Eek-a-Mouse, for anyone who doesn't know, is the largest black man I've seen on stage. He's 6'6 (at least) and is extremely muscular. Along with this, he has bright, white, shiny teeth with a huge gap in between his two fronts. And, of course, Bang bang biddy bong bong...

RIP Alton Ellis

RIP Alton Ellis

Alton Ellis, king of rocksteady, has passed away last week. Ellis was admitted to the Hammersmith hospital in London and died on the 10th of october from cancer. His death prompted a statement from Jamaica's Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports, Olivia 'Babsy' Grange, who said "even as we mourn the great Alton Ellis, we must give thanks for his monumental contribution to the development of Jamaica's popular music". It is notable that the man toured the world and brought joy with his music up untill his death.

So make the next joint you light up in his honor.
