Country Mon's Cloning Technique

I'd like to apologize for being reactive. I've taken a lot of shit over the years in forums for sharing my experiences, (especially my STS technique), but forums ARE for discussion, so I will chill out.

FreezerBoy, more power to you, and I look forward to your thread on cloning. I think my main disbelief was about the 100% success with no dome. In my personal experience with 30+ strains, high humidity is absolutely key, especially in the first 5 days. People who doubt it can always try a side-by-side comparison to see which method works best for them. That is ALWAYS the best approach when trying new methods.

As for new cuttings "needing air"... when there are no roots transpiration is drastically reduced. So I beg to differ with you, at least, until the roots develop. When you mist twice daily as I described, they will get plenty of ventilation.

Country Mon, I agree with the dome and rooters. I use power clone gel (it is really a liquid) to encourage roots. I think the dome gives you more time to root. At the first sign of roots I begin to ween them off of the dome by opening it up more and more daily. Eventually, I have nice little clones ready to plant.

jiggywhompus, I too have also noticed in my limited experience that lower cuts are not as ideal as upper cuts. I think a good veg will equalize things, but If you go straight into flower the plants grow like lower shoots.

JJScorpio made a great cloning thread that compliments this one:

FreezerBoy, your clone rate is 110%? When you clone you actually make new plants? Nice! Do the plants feed off your ego to get such a great rate?

You are absolutely right. Could you please post the link to your cloning thread? Thanks.

It's right here. I only disagreed with 2 of your points. I said nothing about your dirty knife or woody cuts. I included my Hormex "secret". I even said, "The most important thing for new cloners to understand is the Voodoo factor. What works perfectly for some guarantees death to others."

My belief is people make cuts too large and retain too much leaf. Domes correct the symptom of drooping but don't cure the problem. Keeping cuts short and leaf mass at a minimum cures the problem, which removes the symptoms which makes the dome obsolete.

When every cut roots, I don't know what else to call that but 100% success. That's as low as my success rate goes. If someone doesn't want to accept the truth then they can accept 110%. Your choice.

I like the rapid rooting method, works great but i must say the aero cloners are now my favorite method. With the supplies cost to make it and the producing ratio you cant go wrong. What are the sizes you cut of your clones?? The nice thing about this cloning method is that it eliminates my veg cycle.

i have been getting 100% within a weeks time using a clear plastic "pencil box" from walmart and filling it half up with perlite then gettin perlite wet so that about 1/2" of water is in it. i make holes for the cuttings with a screwdriver i sterilized. in one weeks time with 27 cuttings everything had roots. my first go too!

got this method off of dr budgreengenes. check out his threads...

Kusheater1...id have to agree, love my walmart home made bubble cloner...good succes rate every time.

i dont use the RR plugs tho, looks like you are...

i have 1/2in circular holes cut in my top. i fill the thing with tap water. Put the bubbler in the bottom, hook up the pump for some bubbles, put the top back on.

I Put the cuts through the holes and into or close to the bubble stream. the cuts hold them selves up by their leaves/leave branches. throw the rubber maid over the top with a coupla floros.. no humid dome. cpu fans blow through the lights but not directly on the clones (about a foot above) 24/7. lights on 24/7

i successfully rooted 4 out of 7 cuts that were 3-4weeks into flower using this method the last go around...i thought this was an amazing feat...feel free to correct me if you guys have good results cloning flowering plants.
