What's new

New Rooms, New Strains, No SULFUR BURNERS!!

I haven't ran a grow on IC in a while but this should be worth checking out (hopefully!). I recently gained access to some new space and am in the process of outfitting the exhaust/ducting and getting everything up and running so very soon my flowering capabilities will be a 1000w hps on a light mover for a hydrohut deluxe (4'x8'x7' high) which will be running 30 or so 3 gal ladies in a promix blend and also an 8' x 8' room with two 600w digi hps on light rails running smaller girls. It will be some time before everything is up to 100% operationally as i'm planning a staggered harvest where plants will be cut down every 2 weeks or once a month to cut down on the amount of trimming that must be done at one time and ensure a steady flow of buds. The purpose of the rooms designed as such is to figure out the most efficient way to maximize harvests (much smaller plants or big bushes?).

Anyway, thanks to my new friends on ic who I was lucky enough to hang out with recently, I have many choices for strains :) THANKS!!!!!! I had quite a seed collection previously but was ripped off in a bad living situation but that was time past and things are a lot sunnier now :joint: .

Okay, so the choices...

sr-71 purple kush
bubblegum
jillybean
g13/nl
g13/burmese
a11-genius
giesel
casey jones
ecsd
bubba kush ....thanks to the gifter/s!!!

kk strawberry cough ...thanks

Neville's haze (5th place in e.c. nugs n jugs 08!)
A11
N. lights
CinDiesel (two phenos)
Ed Rosenthal Super
Jack Herer
Satori

maybe more but it's alot to remember

here's some pics of the current state

p.k.

g13/burmese

casey jones

neville's haze

Northern lights male

The first run will be mainly a test run to decide which plants to keep as my future mothers but will be an awesome mixed harvest. I've also started 15 random heady bagseeds that have been accumulated by a good friend for testing.

Oh, and why no sulfur burners??? I recently invested in one as a preventative measure against pm and insects and I was awoken at 3 am while staying over at the location by an incredibly good but incredibly loud fire alarm!! The area was filled with sick sulfur gas and I had to mask my face with a piece of cloth and run into the cloud to determine what had happened. The sulfur had somehow caught on fire and had a 3-4" flame jetting out of the top. Good thing I HUNG IT WITH A METAL CHAIN WELL BELOW THE POLY CEILING. If that hadn't been the case I surely would not be writing this right now. The flame was almost impossible to put out and I had to keep running in and out of the burning sulfur cloud to take breaths :bashhead:. I talked to the guy from the manufacturer who informed me there must be some impurity in the sulfur prills to just flame up like that (I followed the instructions to a t) and subsequently is giving me some free stuff :jump: . He was awesome and really nice and had never heard of this happening before (just a fluke I guess). Next day I find my seedlings bleached from the sulfur o.d. :badday: . I had to cull one and other ones are pulling through slowly. It really sucked though. Anyway, I still think there are situations where the burners are excellent and I know people who have run them for years without a hitch but please use CAUTION with them.

Sulfur damage on plants

Anyway I'll get more pics of the setup up soon when I get that done and we'll aim for having some big plants start flowing in about 3 weeks. Until then, peace, dr.snow

Easy Dr.Snow, and nice variety man. What a fu%$*@g choice to smoke (inhale, exhale). Yummy yummy yummy MMmmmmmmmmmmm.

Just a couple of strains in my med cab mate. Double Gum, and C99 (plus a plant i thought was Double Gum, look like i may have to wait a while.

I was wondering how many clones can be grown in a 60L container?

I'll be back Dr.Snow.

Peace Tc

So what did you do Dr. snow? rob the great strains bank?
like the sound of g13 burmese, but you could throw a dart and pick a winner from that list

I'm not really sure how many clones can be grown in a 60L container... never used that sized before. I guess it would depend on the size and purpose of growing multiple plants in one pot.

I clone everything in rapid rooters (you can't get any simpler... no adjustment to ph and impossible to overwater) and transplant into pint solo cups which are cheap, effective, and reusable. You can put holes in solo cups with a screwdriver, and a stovetop... I just heat up the screwdriver on the stove and plug 5 holes in the bottom of the cups... you can do stacks of 10 or so at the same time (just make sure you have vent fan and open windows in your kitchen).

Hazy, no I didn't rob a strain bank, just getting high with a little help from friends!

The new strains are almost ready to be cloned so I'm looking at putting them into flower in 1-2 weeks! It going to be a crazy mix and hopefully I'll be able to work out a feeding schedule that will work for so much variety :yummy: .

Thanks everyone for stopping in... I'm working on ventilation (getting some new inlines today hopefully) and I'll have an update soon. Peace, Dr.Snow

I vote kk strawberry cough!

If you decide to use a sulfur burner again:
Only fill it half way and put it on a timer.

May the bud gods shine on you!

Out in Cali sulfur burners are almost required.PM is a monster, it travels on people, shoes as well as the air. Caution is definitely in order tho since many are cheaply made. Peace.

It was only filled 1/3 of the way and on a timer...

Jaw, sulfur burners kills pm really well but also slows and controls thrips and other insects.

Okay! enough internet! i just picked up a bunch of supplies and am headed out to work on the room

I want the uploads to be back on sooo bad... :(

Just a quick update for anyone interested...
I got a flower room all clean and set up for some soil pots around the beginning of july so the real show has just been started... I'm going to be running the perpetual (my favorite way to grow) and I started the first batch the 5th and just put in the second on 19/20th. The firsts ones are some nevs haze, some cindiesel, and some ersb and the other day I started my test of some new flavors including that CASEY JONES (what a vigorous plant and interesting structure!), strawberry cough, and g13/burmese. Batch 1 stretched from 1.2 feet to about 3-4 (minus the haze which starts slow, crazy no?) and are branchy monsters!

I'll update some pics as soon as possible, everything is SUPER healthy (my previous pics are embarrassing :( to me but all is growing back at 100% and lush.

Peace everyone thanks for stopping in heres a pic keep things interesting till the kinks in the system get worked out...

Back in the hps glow...

Heres an update on the eventually perpetual (halfway there) flower room I have going on. This is a joint effort with a good friend of mine and I am teaching them the tools of the trade. The first batch is between two and three weeks flowering and includes some of my classic selections (cindiesel, haze, etc.). They are HUGE, the large one about 5'. The next batch, flowering for about 1 week is the test batch for the new strains so that should be interesting in a few weeks. Heres some pics...

N. Haze - 2 weeks

Stem porn, anyone?

Casey Jones, 1 week

big leaves!

cin-diesel 2.5 weeks

Hope you like!

Okay so I know it's been a lil while since an update but it's been a busy few weeks... I took some pics for an update but unfortunately with the crappy sub camera things didn't turn out as well but still got a couple good ones. I've been putting ladies in flower every two weeks to start the perpetual and today is the final day of putting things in before I start taking things out :rasta: . Right now in flower I have my old favorites (cin-diesel, wonder haze, neville's, and a little of the sativa pheno ed rosenthal super bud) and some testers (casey jones, bubba, p.k., g13/burmese). I can't wait to decide what 4 strains to run for a while (too many choices!), right now I'm experimenting a little with every plant, keeping detailed notes and getting that dial right! It's really hectic caring for each plant individually with their minor feeding differences and their pots drying out after different intervals but it's a labor of love! I'll have some more complete and better pictures soon but here's the recent attempt...

Casey Jones - let me say something about this plant because I can already tell I like it! Can definitely tell the thai influence in plant by the way the calyxes are developing and has a light peppery scent right now, it's SO vigorous (in the top two fastest growing plants in my garden) and beautiful branch structure- looks like a marijuana menorah!

Next some pictures from my special cindiesel pheno- I recently gave a bud of this to an old stoner from way back and he was .stunned. at the potency and great flavor of the buds. he told me he hadn't had anything that good in a long time and it meant alot coming from him :) It's nice to know that you're doing a good job even if you can't take credit for it :)

Stay safe, until next time... peace
