Hey guys and gals, I'm a little late starting this but ya havn't missed too much yet.

Happened to snag a pack of Steele's Sonja's a couple months ago off SB. I popped 5 beans about 5 weeks ago. They're veggin' under a T5 and will go under a 400 HPS once they get a little bigger and have been trained a bit. Read nothin' but good things about this strain Steel, can't wait til they're finished.

Looks like yer a good caregiver for 'em . I look forward to seeing em progress into and through flowering . If your gonna use a 400 exclusively , I would recommend triggering these plants earlier than later , they can stretch out pretty good .....

Thanks fer sharing with everyone Hesh ,
Steele

Real good looking plants hesh. I just love the way Blockhead looks when it's vegging. I have grown out several BlockHead crosses and they all have that dark green jungle look to them

It was no different with Steele's Blue Sonja that I'm growing now. I coulda picked it out of 1000 plants that it was Blockhead or had BlockHead in it. I can hardly wait to feel the sativa side of BH that Steele has isolated in his Blue Sonja pheno.

I'm doing an outdoor run with BS and have a thread. I am pleased that there is some uniformity in these and that his bx is working nicely. Your plants look like mine. I have a thread in this forum about these and some other GrindHouse stuff. Check it out.

I will be watching this one for sure hesh.

Thanks for the words Steel and Ickis.

Steel - yes I'm using a 400w for flower, but i've got about 4' of vertical space so I'm not too worried yet. The T5 is keepin' em pretty compact so far, seem to be a couple different phenos. BS 2 has really compact nodes and is the shortest of the bunch, and was topped a couple days ago. I have left BS 3 alone for the moment, it's got a bit more node spacing than 2, no branches yet. Blue Sonja 1, 4, and 5 been tied over for the last week, and all look pretty similar. No difinitive signs of sex yet, so today I put 'em all in the flower cab to see if I can't coax a lil' peep show outta em within the next couple days. Males will be put in another room to collect some pollen. I put the training on hold for a couple days cuz I quickly am running out of room in my cab so I might just have to flower 'em as is.

Ickis - nice thread, good lookin' plants, should be some nice outdoor nuggets for ya soon enough. thanks for stoppin' in

group shot, hps make em look a lil weird

rest of the cab, Orange deez on the right, SSH on the left, 10 days in. 2.5' x 3' flower space.

more updates/pics soon

Right on, I'll be watching. They're looking great so far. Steele has some great genetics here, man. I planted 2 of my Blue Sonja bx1 seeds and got 2 males, one of which is the most beautiful (and downright stankiest) plant I've ever grown. The few people who have visited my garden have all remarked that Steely is the most gorgeous plant in there - he just stands out like a rock star at WalMart. And I gave 2 beans to a friend, who reports that they're also the 2 most beautiful plants in his garden.

We're both gonna have some killer F2's...

Hey guys, thanks for stoppin' in. PondeLftHndSide - all of my Blue Sonja's reek, that classic weed funky skunky smell. Stink is right up there with my SSH which funks up the room as soon as I open the cab door. I plan on making a small batch of F2's as well as a little dusting on a few other buds in the garden...:rasta:

All 5 plants are about a week into 12/12. Edit: Ended up with 1 girl and 4 dudes. I had thought 3 fems, but am kinda glad because i've only got room for two right now. Seem to be an indica-leaning pheno and a sativa pheno. I should also add that these are being grown in a roughly 3:2:1 mix of Promix, perlite, and earthworm castings. Feedin' FF Grow Big right now.

BS 1 - fem

BS 2 - male - topped

BS 3 - male. Has almost a skunky coffee smell to it

BS 4 - male

BS 5 - male

Crowded in here

Thanks Steele. Upon further inspection today Sonja #2 was showin' his bawlz, leaving Sonja #1 as the lone confirmed female. I'm going to flower 2 of the males, #3 is gonna be the main stud, closer nodes than the other sativa-leaning phenos and by far the best smell out of all 5 plants, hard to describe. #4 and #5 are pretty similar, 4 having slightly thinner fan leaves and a little more compact structure, and a slightly different, almost cleaner smell than 5. I'm gonna continue flowering these two and pick one to use once they develop a lil more. #2 is likely to get the axe today.

Any thoughts on male selection Steele? I might go ahead and pop another couple beans soon to get some more female selection, we'll see how the one I got starts to shape up. :joint:

Hey guys, been a while, here's a quick update.

Blue Sonja #1 has been in flower for about a week after having been transplanted. Not growing terribly fast but I think she's taking some time to root out the pot, which is fine with me cuz the lower node branches are takin' off, taking a couple clones soon. She's about a foot tall and still tied over at a bit of an angle, still! has node spacing about an inch apart, which surprises me considering she lookin' quite a bit more on the sativa side and the two males I'm flowering stretched pretty good. I'll get some updated shots tomorrow.

Gal #1 6 days ago

Here's dudes #3 and #4, 6 days ago. #3 (on the right) is one of the best smelling plants I've grown out, straight rank funk coffee. They started droppin' pollen yesterday, I've collected some and will collect more, just waitin' on the girl to show me some budS.

Closeup of #3's flowers, taken today

Hesh , I select based on aroma , trich density , and overall plant architecture above all . Tha Sonja line is based on a Sativa pheno and we select fer such ... Lookin' good an' can't wait to see 'em in full bloom .

Be well ,
Steele

Hey guys. Thanks fer the thoughts on selection Steele, I usually prefer sativa influence and so far the plants seem it. I've got 7 or 8 more beans to play with, sure there are plenty more gems in the pack, but real stoked so far on these, very easy to keep happy, can't wait to see some frosty nuggets. :rasta:

Ickis - i'll be taking two or three cuts off 'er tonite or tomorrow, took a while for those side branches to get big enough, she really wants to grow like a pole, would probably do great in a SOG. No worries 'bout the males, #3's been gettin' put to good use by the other girls in the garden :D

Here's pics of #1 taken tonite.

Update for ya all. About 4 weeks 12/12, gettin' frosty. Still short, maybe a foot or foot and a half tall. Got three clones waiting on roots, hopefully can get some more stretch outta 'em next run :bashhead: Can already tell this gal is gonna have some dense nuggets and she smells wonderful.
Collected enough pollen from the dudes, ax'd #4 and cut back #3 pretty good, may have some use for him yet.
