bagseed grow

That looks pretty good. Some people say not to grow bag seed, but if everyone wnet by that rule, then we would not have some of the best genetics out there (ie: Chem?Dawg lineage). It looks like a sativa dominant strain, but it does look good. I hope you put a smoke report up here when you harvest and sample it.

Good luck and keep planting bag seed; although I hope you got a clone of that one.

VERY nice looking plant, its got a nice growth formation right there. I currently have 2 different types of bagseeds going.
Take it easy.

Hey man, never toss those bag seeds :D! I have the nicest plant Ive ever seen, and the first one Ive ever grown, straight from a good ol random bag seed. What day of flower was she on, and when do you plan on cutting?

Hi, i would wait or see the global plant view
And how much time in grow
Pitils are burned but trichs are plenty white ?

Thanks for the nice words!

Wookie - She is on day 63 of flowering, and there is quite a bit of burn all over (I was too embarrassed to post these)- I made the rookie mistake using tap water, and poor ladies got nute locked and torched.

The trichs are all white as snow, except maybe 10% which are turning amber, but I think I'm going to let her go for another 10-14 days. If you look, there is some substantial new growth all over the buds, so I want to let them continue to fill and bulk till the trichs tell me it's time.

Here's a few more shots, I know they are burnt to hell, but I've flushed and gone to DI water only, and now have a PH and a PPM pen, so no more run-away guessing games.

Here's a lower bud:

Because of the type of work that I do, I am more technical, so building and designing is my strength (see my stash box thread to see what happens when an engineer gets high!). The growing, I hope, will come with practice, but I've already harvested an earlier plant, and even though it was way early, it was still better than the weed that the seed came from, so it's a win to me!

Here's my system - it's not done, but there will be a door over the top, also:

Cabinet from the outside:

Cabinet open:

There is 1 90w HPS on the right, and 1 90w HPS and a 150 MH on the left. Due to an upcoming move, I am not vegging any on the right like normal, and I was curious to see what the HPS only could produce, so I'm splitting what I would normally flower into both sides. To direct air around and keep out outside light and prevent light leaks, the box has a 4” deep back wall behind the back of the cabinet, and there are holes drilled thru which lead to ducts built in between the back wall of the grow space and the real back wall. The ducts are made of thin particle board cut 4" wide and glued in place with the cabinet laying on it's face. They are set up like walls, sealed air-tight and the ones carrying smelly air are sealed on top of the walls with more particle board cut-outs. The fresh air and hot air ones seal by screwing a piece of partical board over the entire back, like a cheap bookshelf. One duct brings fresh air (vent air, as I call it) into the grow chambers, and then the holes in the top back of the chambers lead to a 75 CFM fan which leads to a carbon filter. Another duct draws air (cooling air, as I call it) into the homemade cool-tubes, and then out thru a 475 CFM fan and then out of the box. This hot air never touches the plants, so it does not need filtering, and the carbon filter will last longer only moving the 75 CFM of vent air, instead of the total 550 CFM (vent air + heat air) that passes thru the box.

The platform that the pots sit on is on movable shelf track, so I raise and lower the shelf as needed. I sort-of LST my ladies, mostly to keep then at about the same height, and occasionally have to raise an individual plant. My main goal in all this is to not only have my meds, but have a variety on hand at any given time, for whatever ails me. Some strains help more with the Lyme disease, some help more with anxiety, and some help more with muscle problems. Plus, I have a few that help with boredom.............

Built in multi-level drying box which is pulled thru my ducts and ends up in the carbon filter (the door is missing):

Close up on the top with the carbon filter on the right. This fan blows 24/7, but the big fan shuts off with the lights to prevent power waste:

Close up of the veg side:

and the flower side, you can see the vent-air-out hole on the top left, which leads thru ductwork to the 75 CFM fan and the carbon filter:

I'm planning a major re-work soon to smooth out a few of the things I've learned, but all and all, it's a nice set-up!

Tri - For a rookie you sure gots a good game plan together and went with it. The only thing that will make your skill better is to keep growing and growing. I suspect you are not that lost to produce nice buddage like the pics show! Peace and good luck!
to you.

Thanks Rainman. I think my favorite thing about this place is not the knowledge or help, not the pothead porn (although that is all great, too), but the fact that I can talk here, brag, and get back friendly comments. It sucks to not be able to share your hobby with everyone, you know?

Yea, that is a very nice setup. Mad respect for you on your 1st grow.

And I agree, its very hard to not be able to talk to your friends about how great your grow is going. Thats one of the best things about this site.

Keep up the good work

love the bagseed :)

i just cut my first grow ever which just so happen to be a bagseed!!!! and she turned out damn fine as well.

Nice job man.

heres my baby :)

Hey,

My ladies are in the middle of what seems to be a second growth spurt at 2 months in. The trich's are still milky white, so it's not ready to harvest, but I'm wondering how often this happens. Anyone else see this? You can see the new growth in the above pictures, but it's growing really fast, like 2x in 2 days!

I can't see why this would be bad, I'm just curious, is all.

Hahaha shes fattening up for you! Its happening to my bagseed plant right now Triv. Shes got almost only milky white trichs, and shes throwing out more pistols than a sheriff in the civil war. Too bad I have to cut early, I would love to watch her fatten and increase the yeild :( Since we seem to be relatively new growers in this thread... you guys enjoying this hobby as much as me? It started out as a skeptical endeavor, but now.. its my life.

Triv, your cab is badass! Im loving your engineering skills... I hollowed out a computer and just wired its fans inside... pretty ghetto :p

Yeah I have seen this. It happened to a bagseed plant of mine. It was a sativa dominant plant, which it seems yours is too. I have noticed that some sativa dominant plants (I have noticed this a good amount with Haze strains) will do this, because they are truly long season plants meant to be grown outdoors, and this is their reaction to us bringing them inside and limiting their size. If you have the time let it go and enjoy watching it plump up.

Nice bud shots! I'm experiencing the same thing with my Sat. dominant bag seed girls and was worried they might be revegging--though I don't think I have any light leaks. Mine are on day 58 and are still pretty light and fluffy, but starting to bulk up. I burned the sh*t out of them too about two weeks ago and res temps are high, but they seem to like the heat.

I'll post some picks before chop.

Best,

DM

Thanks guys!

Re-vegging was my first thought, but all that is growing is bud and covered with trichs, so I figured even if it was re-vegging, it was still smokable weight being added!!!!

Wookie - I'll keep you updated with pics so you can see at least one go full cycle. I justed looked at the trichs and they are getting bigger and more dense, but all of them are just clear to milky. I hope she keeps packing em on. I like big buds, I cannot lie...............

OK, coming up on day 70, and I thought I'd post some more pics.
Same bud, same angle - check out the new growth in 4 days!
4 days ago:

and today, same bud, same angle:

Here's a few more:

Very nice buds. I love watching buds plump up like that at the end.

I know how you feel, but wait it out a bit longer. I am sure your yield and potency will increase from here.
