i see it as unnecessary honestly. i wouldn't have any reason to use that. i guess it could be useful if you drove in an insane amount of stop and go driving. i would rather keep my computer in a case and just take it out when i stop. :joint:

but not to argue... i dont do that anymore.

i like it cuz im in my truck alot, and if i can chill in traffic and do my business its better for everyone.

trust me ..i get in road rage on a 4 mile 2 lane windy mtn road every day ..just cuz i drive slow.

people are prolly better off if i have a distraction...and i aint smoked weed in like months...so all the more reason to leave me alone.

not like id use that while driving, but it could help make me less pissed when in traffic.

do you have a wireless internet card? without one of those it might be pretty useless unless you want to type up a microshit spreadsheet or something

I use a laptop in the truck and have for years. I have a ghetto setup that holds it in the passenger seat though.

I attach my hand held GPS and then use Delorme Topo or Street Atlas to track real time. Acts just like the newer dash mount units except that I get a 14" screen and have access to topo maps too.

And for the record, I have been distracted, but never been in an accident because of it.

if a guy was roamin all day between jobsites (as opposed to offices) and constantly receiving and sending info thru the day it would be handy. also nice big screen for looking at gps data and maps. not typin while drivin but at the site. your truck has air and tunes, better to type there rather than sitting on a bucket next to a diesel engine.

Blame the driver, not the stuff. :bashhead:

Wow. Thanks for the heads up. It would be awesome if you could hook that up to your head-unit for an mp3 playlist. Or hook it up to your cell phone for Google map. Far from unnecessary.

my laptop is wireless w/out the card (or its built in or whatever)...im on wireless broadband now.....and ive been looking into "mobile broadband"....havent figured it out yet tho.

once i get mobile broadband i will get the mount no doubt.

...and no i wont use it while driving....i dont drive a whole lot, but when i have to wait around anywhere for anything i do it in my car....my work breaks and lunches i'm in my car, if i eat anywhere but home, i do it in my car.

..so thats why i'd like the thing
