cooling twin Sun Systems 2 hoods w/1000w ea

I have a pair of Sun System 2 hoods and want to hook them up using an 8-inch to 2-6-inch T into a 750 CFM elicent fan and carbon scrubber.

Sound like overkill?

I'll be using twin 1000W hoods with a 16-inch long T between them - both hoods have a 6-inch vent, which fits prefectly onto the two 6-inch sides that go into one 8-inch T -which will go to 8-inch flex hose and the 8-inch ellicent fan and 8 inch scrubber

I will have a means to exhaust the scrubbed air into a seperaate room and a diverter so I can vary between outdoor exhaust and indoor - or partially both.

This will be hanging from a 6-foot linear light rail - covering about 5ft wide by 10 foot long flower area.

Am I mising anything?

Should I put a thermal switch on the fan? - temps hit 78 and the fan kicks on

so far I have the hoods - and the ballasts/lights

is 750 cfm fan too much?

The 750 is only too much cause of the hoods themselves. No matter what your fan is only as efficient as its tightest spot(6 inches) its not that big of a deal I would just get new hoods eventually with 8 inch openings.

well if your getting the temps where you need them, then you have done what you set out to do. that sounds bout right on to 1k's... :joint:

i understand your point ....but if its a 8" tee'd into 2*6" from the 8" it will be fine

i would not have it set to turn on/off when lights are on leave it on

I Know!! I Know!!!
My stinky garden smells during the dark times too.
edit- finnished reading, and there are other good reasons.

This odor control factor is a big bonus of the up-grade.

the heat removal is used for heating during the winter and should stop the summer sweats I get when my temps exceed 80f. Add the bonus of odor control - it's past time to do this.

I'll do some documentation and photo lay out of the install and upgrade. Part of the garden will be going aeroponic too.

Pico did some extensive testing of the light foot print of all hoods available and the SS 2's were very impressive. Even spread and cool temps. I've been using a light mover and I think a 6 foot rail should be even better than still lights.
