nice caramello wardyleb, looks pretty sticky !

I think that red twist is kashmir. I once had something VERY similar back in the late 70's. TGBOH used to be like a guide book to us back then as you could score most of whats in that book. Its a very sad time as far as the commercial hash market goes.

I'm also thinking first about Kashmir, typical twised garda as this one :

But back to the Golden Age, this kind of stuff was also produced in Himachal Pradesh and Nepal (don't know wether it was something traditionnal, or brought in by the hippies), so it keeps me wondering.
Was that one you had also of red color ?
Do you remember how was the effect ? Today's Kashmiri gadah is made out of sativa plants and such is the effect. Pure uplifting energy althoug not racey, no ceiling, top notch for spiritual use. Will bring any darkened mood to an enlightened relief !

Those samples look very tasty wardyleb :)

About Red Leb, I bought some from a coffeeshop in Venlo in April, and although it wasn't high quality, it was an ok smoke.

If you remember Mr H, we smoked it after the 420 Cup, and me you and the other guy we smoked it with all agreed it was ok, but nothing special.

It certainly is a mystery where all the fresh and potent new Red Leb is going....maybe to Israel, but surely there's too much for their market??

It's good that high grade Moroccan, and sometimes Nepalese, is available in the Netherlands (and for you in the UK wardyleb through your mate), but it would also be nice to sample some other classics, e.g. 1st grade Afghani, Indian Charas, Lebanese, etc.

Peace

what exactly is that hash wrapped in?

That is Maize leaves. It is actually used to press the resin powder. See the red chunk in the pic I posted before ? That is pressed with maize leaves. The resin powder is put in some leaves then usually steamed. The bundle is then toughly twisted which presses the resin. Then it' steamed again and twisted again and so on until the required texture and density is attained. This material is actually hard as wood and super powdery (needs a lighter usually to cumble it), but top notch quality !

I supposse yes, but maybe the supertight pressing kicks the water out, and corn leaves could also help to absorb it. That stuff is known to spoil easily went badly done or kept and as a matter of fact cannot be kept for very long. Dries very rather quickly, but even old crappy looking one is still kickass ! Scored a piece once in Mac Leod Ganj, was rather brownish and had obvious mold spots. By lombalgia needed some relief (at least for the mind) so I smoked it. The taste was that of a slightly fermented west african ganja and the effect, although a bit light, where that ones typical from this material.
Quantity is about 10gr.

I don't know what can be the benefit of such a technique, well, exceptthat they make some of the best hashish in the world, eheh...

beautiful shots every one, we havent had good import in oz since the swiss breifcases and the bulk red cellephane/gold seal 10-15 years ago. Local sativa waterhash and jelly hash are vnice but nothing compared to the overall experience of the old world imports we used to get.
much respect

Thanks for the info. I thought that is what it looked like. It reminded me of a tamale.
