Anyone ever smoke before they SCUBA dive?

Just like it says... I've been scuba diving a couple times while on vacation so i'm finally getting my license this summer... Wondering if any of you have ever puffed the majik dragon before ya dive? Or if its straight up bad joojoo... I've never seen anyone smoke a Cig before a dive so idk how smoking and diving mix except maybe decrease your breathing efficiency

I agree but it would truly be amazing seeing all that cool shit down there in deep
down under in the deep bleu sea.

not a good idea........you have enough to concentrate on whilst diving to make sure you don't get the bends.........and that you have enough air in your tanks.......e.t.c.....


if you really want to risk it.......then go deep and maybe get nitrogen narcosis.......that really gets you high.......so much so that you can't tell up from down......

?? Too many die? Its not like a big amount of people die scuba diving... If someone gets the bends its usually from a deep dive. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone dying from a shallow dive... 35ft and above.. All you have to worry about there is equalizing pressure which isnt that hard... Then again I'm used to doing that from 16 years of swimming.. Scuba diving comes pretty natural to me from being in the water every day for that long.. although i'm not much into wreck/deep diving.. To me.. all the cool stuff is at 35ft and above

Not worth the risk. Maybe snorkeling, but not diving. A lot of people die, no matter how deep.

I know 2 instructors that smoke lightly before they go out off east africa on dives.

It is very risk though and their combined experience is almost 50 yrs. Other then that if you find yourself in a situation underwater , time is of the essence. For them being underwater is 2nd nature but to most people being stoned is NOT a good idea!!

Rather dive safe....

....I must say that I have dived stoned on more than a few occasions.........it does'nt really enhance the experience.........just could muddle things up if you are not super aware.....

No,but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express before,and I can use an Abacus while stoned

I smoke before doing everything ....scuba, sky diving, cliff jumping , all sports..

But then again I've been smoking everyday since 1985..

I would try it at no more then 20 or 30 ft (or a pool) that way if you get short of breath you can surface fast... I don't go deep sea diving only shallow reefs/rocks/sunking boats.....

I use MJ for Hyperactivity and colitas, as I kid instead of weed it was Downers and Steroids .....

Thats what I'm talkin about AG I smoked before skydiving too.

I see GN's point about it not really enhancing the experience...maybe you should drop some acid before? Heh jk have fun and enjoy it I've always wanted to go diving.
